I am thankful I found this board. I am in desperate need of help. I am having some serious concerns with my wife and the path that she is on. We are both Christians and have been for many years. Recently a person came into her life that is special needs. That female has became a large part of my wife's life which I have no issue with. My wife feels that God has called her to become a mother figure to this young woman. My concern is ever since that young lady became a part of my wife's life thing have rapidly changed with both our relationship and also her beliefs. I don't want to paint my wife in a bad light, that's part of the reason I am glad to find a forum where no one will "know" her. I love my wife and am really concerned not only for her but for our marriage. There is no other way to put this but be blunt so here goes. My wife now believes that she can talk to people whom have passed away through her cell phone via text messages. This would include her bother, mother other distant relatives and even other people whom she says "come through". It only get's worse. She now also believes she can talk to God directly via text through her cell phone and is saying some very unbiblical things. When I have tried to address these thing that contradict the Bible she says the bible was written by men and translations have gotten lost. That's the kind of stuff I heard from non-Christians. This whole thing has morphed into something really big and I believe dangerous. Now she believes she has several adult special needs kids whom are really her children that she lost from miscarriage's years ago. She communicated with these adults through text. She has been promised money and all sorts of things that never happen. She chalks it up to "evil" trying to keep her from them. Thank you all for reading and any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am at a loss.

Sounds like she needs schizophrenic medication from a doctor. That is my assessment. You need to convince her to tell these things to a specialist. They will direct her to the medication she needs.

Things have progressed. She has moved out of our bedroom now. She simply says we are on different paths. It’s now Sunday and she is blasting worship music which I love but I just don’t understand all this. She won’t give up the fact that she can communicate through texting with spirits or Angels as she calls them. She is taking about moving out of the house now and that her angels will take care of her. She has rejected any counseling from a pastor stating they are just following the worlds ways and she is on the path of Jesus. She has also refused any medical advice. I am so lost right now. I don’t understand what’s going on.

I will also say the scary part is these spirits or Angels as she calls them are telling her things. Real things that she would never know. How is this possible? What is she communicating with? I fear it’s something very evil. She won’t hear of it though and says how is it evil when she loves God and worships him all the time. I just don’t know. I am grounding my faith on the word of God which is very clear this is evil.

Pretty clear that you are dealing with something bigger than anyone but mental health professionals can handle. Is there any history of mental illness in her family as these things are sometimes inherited and only need some sort of trauma to bring them out?

Can you get her to show you the ‘texts’ that these ‘spirits’ are sending her? If these are real, then you should be able to read them too. Or maybe the ‘spirits’ will tell her only she can see them?

If the demons are taking advantage of her weakened mental state, they can certainly tell her things she would never know. It’s such a difficult situation, but unless she is open to getting help, there is not much that you can do but seek the advice of medical professionals and somehow get her help.

I am seeking options with at attorney. Not for a divorce but what my options are for any metal stability help. She is refusing to speak to any medical professional or pastor now. Some have asked and the answer is a resounding yes there is a very large history of mental illness in her family. She just never showed any signs of this until recently. I do agree this is way above what I can deal with as a husband. I am praying constantly that God can heal and save her. I just am in a very tough spot since she is refusing to seek any help. In her words she is just fine. She is on her own path now and no man will take her off it. In her exact words "she is on the same path as Jesus". As my pastor has stated you can exabit cult like behaviors and not necessarily be in a cult. That is what she is doing.

I just ask for pray for this situation. Healing and deliverance for her and strength for me.
