I like to read the bible through each year. So I'm returning to a book I used once before called "footsteps through the Bible" that I have in Logos. So far it's my favorite bible plan. I also hope to take off a few lbs.So: who has a new year's resolution?:)
Both sound like great plans...I like to read the bible through each year. So I'm returning to a book I used once before called "footsteps through the Bible" that I have in Logos. So far it's my favorite bible plan. I also hope to take off a few lbs.
This is true. If I bathe my mind in God's word, I have peace of mind and happiness unknown before. Every time my mind wanders I have something to check my thoughts against and then delete not only the bad ones but also those that might otherwise pass if not for the word. Both sound like great plans...
Consecutive reading of the Word brings great rewards in one's understanding of Scripture...
Ephesians speaks of 'the washing of water by the word'.This is true. If I bathe my mind in God's word, I have peace of mind and happiness unknown before. Every time my mind wanders I have something to check my thoughts against and then delete not only the bad ones but also those that might otherwise pass if not for the word.
So: who has a new year's resolution?:)
I take your point...Over the decades I have made many. Trouble is, I don't keep any.
I get too ambitious in making them , so I have never kept them.
Because of reading many decades ago about the story in Judges 11
"whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."
He made a stupid vow, and then his daughter came running out to meet him!! So I have never, never, ever made any vow to the Lord, just to myself. But never been true to myself
So, now I don't even bother. :)
My new years resolution is to give these extra ten pounds to the first one that wants it.
Happy New Year
God Bless,
Taken
LOL... :)Here's one that I made many years back - To not ever again make a New Years Resolution, and it is the only one I ever stuck to!![]()
