Obey them

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they care for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

How do we know who to obey?

Peter, the apostles, and their successors?

the order to obey remains for all believers so the apostles remain unto the end!
Matt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

He remains with His apostles until the end

Jesus Christ continues HIS ministry in His new covenant church thru Peter, the apostles, and their successors with the same mission, power, and authority!

How do we know who to obey?

Great question!

I would say that we will be enabled to Obey God the Father through the Laws of the Spirit of Life. These Laws are Spiritual, while the Laws of Moses are worldly and regulatory . . . and possesses no Power whatsoever. But the Laws of Life equate to what it is to share in the Divine Nature of Christ. Here are the amazing verses to demonstrate this hypothesis.

Romans 8:1-2 KJV - "[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

2 Peter 1:4 NLT - "And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires."

Who we obey is independent from Who and What causes us to obey. True Christians will be caused to obey by God Himself.

Deuteronomy 30:6 NIV - "The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live."

Until Jesus removes the Curse of the Sinful Nature, we cannot obey, for the Sin Nature cannot ever obey. Why? Because the Sinful Nature is what enables us to disobey, and likewise, it is the Divine Nature that enables us to obey.

Romans 8:7 NLT - "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will."

Do you see the enabling work of both Natures? Until Jesus removes the Curse of Adam and Eve, we will not obey the Lord. But when the Curse is lifted from our hearts, we are in fact, enabled to obey. For this is the only way to become Transformed . . . it is the Work of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 2:28-29 NLT - "For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. 29 No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people."

Enjoy! The Doctrine of Circumcised Hearts is the utter Core and Holy Work of Christ. How incredible!

(col 1:18) the new and eternal covenant, (pre-figured Jer 31:31) (Heb 8:8) new covenant replaces the Mosaic covenant, (Heb 8:13) Christ replaces David as king, (Lk 1:32-33) Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men, (1 Tim 2:5 & Heb 12:24) but a mediator remains on earth mediating between God and His people, but Christ ascended to heaven, (acts 1) before He did He founded His church, on Peter, and the apostles, and their successors!
