You say your God is bigger than anything in the universe. You say your God is more powerful than anything I could imagine. Okay then. If that is true for you why do need to constantly defend this big and powerful God when someone questions what you believe?
When you claim your God is big and all powerful, why do you think you need to stick up for someone who's bigger and more powerful than all.

Look at it this way:

It's like you have a bigger brother in your family who you know would stick up for you in a heartbeat if he found out someone was messing around with you. Wouldn't he go to the place himself and deal with those people, since he is a bigger brother who's also tougher than those bullies who are causing you grief. When he turns up and warns them to back off for fear of consequences, naturally they should know to be careful where not to tread in the future. It's not like you need to do anything in that situation other than tell your bigger brother what is going on.

But that's not you in this situation with a big and powerful God. Is it?

He's not exactly around to defend himself, is he?

He's around? Just pick up a Bible? Are you purposely trying to turn @Riven away from your faith.

Riven has shown no inclination toward adopting my Abrahamic faith. He has, however, committed to making a commitment in the future to Christianity. The last time he spoke with me about it in any detail he was expressing interest in Eastern Orthodoxy.

Correction my reverse friend. Faith isn't something you have gotten yourself, it's something that God has given to you.

My faith (primitive Christianity) is from God. @Riven is, or at least was, looking into a faith which isn’t mine and never will be.

Meanwhile God is blasphemed against every day. But you don't hear of Christians taking the law into their own hands to behead the offenders.

Seems like its something you shouldn't be complaining about. Cause if you lived in that world you wouldn't like it.

That is a good point...if God was here striking down all who offended him, what kind of world would that be?

And what kind of worshippers would he have, if fear was their primary motivation?

God handed rulership of the world over to the devil....and without his interference. (Luke 4:5-7)
This way God can see who responds to his message out of love, and who has ulterior motives. We are all like Job, enduring the devil’s trials and keeping our faith in spite of them.....love is that powerful.

Those who buckle under the pressure, do not know what the love of God means. (Prov 27:11)

Fear is the primary motivation.

God: I demand worship!

Man: What happens if I don't?

God: You shall burn in hell for eternity!

God: By the way, I love you.

God: I demand worship!
That part isn't actually in the Bible.

There are some places where people DO worship God. There are some where the priests tell the people to worship (with sacrifices that they then get to eat).

But if you look up 'worship' in the Bible, the basic teaching on worship is "don't worship other gods." In the prophets, there are actually several places where God REFUSES worship and sacrifices.

As I see it, God allows worship, strictly because the people want to do it. Why wouldn't they? Bronze Age "worship" was a community BBQ + concert. (Maybe church should look more like that...)

There will be no retreat and there will be no surrender .
The one true gospel is under attack .
The ecumenical harlot has churches on the run . Beleiving a lie
and afraid to even speak up and warn one in sin
and worse even warn one about the dangers of unbelief .
We knew this hour was coming my friend .
We cannot be as many and show the ecumeincal whore our rears as we run from her .
FACE THAT WHORE with foreheads of flint , JESUS gonna be preached
and the diverse inclusive rainbow and koran kissing love
Gonna be exposed .
KISS THE SON and not the ecumeincal golden bull of babylon.
its a war friend and the hour is coming
wherein those who stand and stood firm for Christ , well they gonna bleed
as others before us have t hrough all ages . FACE IT WITH NO fear .
THE LORD is with the sheep and to LIVE IS CHRIST to die is only gain .
Our weapons are spiritual and not carnal . Many will b leed when the hour hits the peak .
JESUS BLED for us , WE shall bleed for Him . TO the trenches one and all , .
forgive those who persecute us , but NEVER CONFORM to a harlots love .

Fear is the primary motivation.

God: I demand worship!
Originally, God did not demand worship, he demanded obedience in exchange for living in paradise forever. That was a good deal, but they turned it down when someone they didn’t even know, offered them a better deal….or he appeared to….the reality wasn’t what they expected.
Man: What happens if I don't?

God: You shall burn in hell for eternity!

God: By the way, I love you.

:jest:
Only in Christendom is this the scenario….not in the Bible. There is no hell for burning for eternity….That’s the devils lie to keep people in fear….it makes them easier to control. The RCC. found that out very early. Feed them fear and don’t let them read the Bible…

Your referring to the Muslim faith right? Fair enough. But Christianity also has a lot of blood on its hands. It's got something to do with believing, that can't be fixed with another belief.

Okay. So what happens if I don't accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior?
Since the planet was created to support life, and we were to be God’s caretakers on this earth....everlasting life in paradise was the exchange….all he asked is that we follow his instructions and life would be wonderful….the Creator has no time for self-created demi-gods who want to do their own thing…it’s his world, his creation, his rules.

If you don’t want to be “saved” when God destroys his enemies, and brings us back to paradise, that is your choice….if you don’t want him…why should he want you? Disobedient children, what are they good for?...:ummm:

Yahweh is under no obligation to allow them to keep living...... since life is a gift, if it is trampled underfoot, unappreciated and abused, he will, take it back. He answers to no one....his creation...his rules. Who are you going to complain to?

But that is the character of God. To strike down his enemies.
You do realize that God has existed for eternity without enemies.....only when one of his formerly faithful spirit sons entertained a wrong desire without dismissing it, did he become Yahweh’s enemy, dragging others into his rebellion by a web of deceit.

It is not part of his character at all.....but when his enemies rise up against him, he will see that justice is done.

“When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone. 14  But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed* by his own desire. 15  Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn sin, when it has been carried out, brings forth death.” (James 1:13-15)

I'm not going to complain to anyone. I'm going to live my life as I so choose.

Excuse me for a minute. To "Follow his instructions" Doesn't mean to follow instructions that I want you to follow.
