Did anyone watch the opening ceremony last night?

I liked the first part of it with the agri-history and then the rise of the industrial revolution, but I was lost around the National Health Service. I'm trying to put politics aside, but it's sad in a history of a country with an amazing literary tradition, that's one of your crowning achievements. It's definitely a progressive society, and I mean it is their right to celebrate that kind of thing.

However, being a traditionalist in many respects, I think way too much time was spent on the whole journey through music. It felt like you only had a little Shakespeare, no Milton, et al in favor of music set to a cautiously politically correct presentation.

I think it could have been up there, but the content fizzled and it seemed to me that priorities were not quite straight.
