I think that I grew up in a church where the church model was to do evangelism by inviting people to church services whether they be revivals or regular services. This definitely impacts the way the church interacts with the world. Biblically, most evangelism in the NT occurred outside in the public forum, either in public events or through individual Christians sharing. This is a great need in the modern world. We need to be among the lost so that they can understand more about what it really means to follow Christ, rather than just their own perceptions that are built up from a distance and based on conjecture. Being Christians who love Jesus and love the lost wherever they are found can have an impact. That is what allowed the church of the 2nd century to change the world, even though they had no wealth or material advantages.
