I was looking into this and checking various news sources, here is one which says its not just Christians being killed and give their reason as to why Nigeria is on the radar and why its important to the U.S beyond just the story "its to save the Christians". Still looking so I havent come to hold any opinion on it yet.

I usually do not watch the news but I am in news binge right now, I think I would prefer that Ground News place, where you can look at every angle and not just the mainstream.
