Thursday 1-9-20, Tevet 13, 5780 5th. day of the weekly cycle, 20th. Winter day

Wise and Foolish Builders/Matthew Seven:24-27; Luke Six:47-49. The parable of the wise and foolish builders, also simply called the parable of the two builders, is told by Jesus to illustrate the difference between: Those who hear and act upon what they learn from Jesus.

Matthew Seven:24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

Luke Six:47As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Love always, Walter and Debbie

Wise and Foolish Builders/

1 Corinthians 3:10-11 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. [11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

there seems to be a contradiction there as Paul’s claim “I have laid the foundation” then no other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. What is laid of any except that foundation which is Christ? See, Paul laying Christ the foundation and the next lays no other foundation than that same tried and true foundation which is Christ, the Spiritual temple built up of One. in the Old Testament God said Isaiah 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. Isaiah 58:12

thou shall raise up foundations: those foundations laid being ONE; in no man can lay other than that which is laid of God, which is Jesus Christ. Built up in Spirit. No man can lay any foundation other than what was laid and that is Spirit. Can it be said “I lay the foundation” which is not of me but the only foundation, foundations raised (built up) in Him? “they that shall be of thee shall build”. (2 Corinthians 10:8)

Another contradiction on the topic of wise or foolish builders. Wisdom of God and not of men descends from above and is given to fools...not the wisdom of “wise in their own conceit.” How often did Paul mention being a fool so consider when he says “as a wise masterbuilder” the wise there is the wisdom of God and not of men.

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

building up in the Spirit and not the flesh: laying no other foundations but Christ.
Jude 1:19-20 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Colossians 2:6-8 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: [7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. [8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Psalm 28:5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

Colossians 2:12-13 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. [13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
