In my 70s. All of the shows I watrched when I was a kid--when I looked at them back them I thought about how many of them looked old. Now when I watch them I think how many of them look young! How could I have ever thought they looked old! :D
It is good to be old for me--I can take a nap, I get an allowance, if I do something goofy, my family figures "Oh well she is just old."
It is easier to worship. I have more time for the Lord, and more time to try to show His love to others, esp family. It givrs you time to repair wounds.

Dance a jig of praise to the LORD . No matter how old are bodies are , we can always honor the glorious LORD .
And soon , very soon , in a day and an hour that no man knows
THE SKY GONNA RIP and the lambs still alive are going UP . The dead in Christ shall rise
and we who are still alive shall be changed and caught together with them to MEET THE GLOROIUS LORD IN THE SKY .
AND what a DAY TOO LOOK FORWARD TOO indeed .

As I get older (turned 28 this week) Ive noticed some perks!

1) Ive become 1,000 percent more selective of who I give my energy to. I try to give my best to my husband, family, and quality friends. But Ive stopped sharing my life on Facebook at all because I love having privacy against those who don't have my best interest. I share nothing on there and keep them in the dark where they belong.

2) I embrace kindness and directness over being "nice" and accomodating. I think getting older is helping this. Sometimes conflict cannot be avoided. Sometimes hard things have to be said but I choose my battles carefully.

3) I am learning to be happy and enjoy where God has me right now. Its never going to be perfect but it's way more than I deserve.

We usually think of aging as this terrible thing but wisdom is very valuable. What things are you learning as you age? Share them here.
Humility is a valuable trait, I believe.

A dear friend shared this wisdom with me yesterday--

You stop caring about what other people think.
Honestly, what they think is their problem, not yours.

Is this a perk?

It all seems to work out. My wife doesn't look as good naked as she used to....

-and I don't see as good as I used to.

.
Zech 1:5 . .Where are your forefathers now? And the prophets, do they
live forever?

My own father is gone, and the great preacher Billy Graham; he's gone too.
My favorite rock and roll guitar player during the years I was a teen-ager
was Chuck Berry. He's gone. When I was a sophomore in high school, me
and a buddy went to see "The Blob" starring a rather unknown actor at the
time named Steve McQueen. He's gone. My eldest brother entered the
Catholic priesthood and anon became a Friar. He's gone. My bestest friend
ever, whom I'd known since the 2nd grade in elementary school, is gone
too; shot to death by law enforcement at only 37 years old.

There's hardly a month goes by without someone passing away that at one
time was very important to me; a constant reminder that nobody lives
forever and neither will I. At my current age of 79, and diagnosed with
esophageal cancer, I'll be passing away not too long from now. Most of my
life has already been lived and I'm in the home stretch; heading for the exit.
When I was a youngster, life's horizon seemed forever far away; but now,
looking at my dilapidated body, it seems I'm walking on the horizon's edge.

A walk thru the valley of the shadow of death isn't cheap. I've had both
knees replaced so I could keep walking without crutches and both eyes have
undergone cataract surgery so I could continue to see clearly. I take pills for
my thyroid, my prostate and my kidneys, and for blood pressure,
cholesterol, and acid reflux. A friend on the waterfront once described
yachts as a hole in the water where you throw money. Old age is quite a bit
like that. (And that's not even mentioning the expense of radiation , CT
scans, PT scans, and chemo)

I am also 79 my friend. I have also had cancer in the right lung as well as in some lymph nodes and chemotherapy. [For the moment my cancer is gone.] We are both able to look to our Lord from whence ultimately all of our help comes. I will keep you in prayer.

This was a bitter pill to swallow, but it made so much sense!

Keep on ageing! It's the best way to reveal God's Grace!

You're only as old as you feel, I'm 60 and I don't have a care in the world. Don't have time to worry about what people think of me, whether they be strangers, family or brethren. Life's too short and there's only person I need to please and that's my Heavenly Father. He's who I live for, and I don't apologize for my beliefs, I'm not woke and I don't compromise.

Understanding.
Perks of aging . We are that much closer to the coming of the KING than we were back then .
What A DAY it will be for the lambs . LET THE LORD BE PRAISED and thanked .
Time flying by and years as well , dont trouble me . I see it as , WE ARE JUST THAT MUCH CLOSER
to the COMING of the GLORIOUS LORD . WHERE lambs shall gather as one WITH HE WHO SAVED THEM and KEPT THEM .
LET the KING be praised .

Understanding.
IF ONE KNOWS CHRIST . i have seen the old and aged man and yet he lacks understanding and has not submitted TO GOD .
The hoary head is not always filled with wisdom , knowledge or understanding .
I have seen older men , who now believe their are to be women . THAT DONT sound like understanding to me .
WISDOM cometh OF THE LORD . Now , let all that has breath both praise and thank the LORD .
GO on , taken , HANDS UP , ITS LORD PRAISING TIME my friend
