I liked the way you related it to poetry, anyway; thanks.
Thanks, the dance as a picture of marriage, this poem and another thing about dance all came more or less at the same time so they do overlap.

The other thing was an article by Max Lucado.

Grandma I’m Bored

“Grandma, I’m bored”, said the modern day child;
Whose parents preferred him not to run wild.
“There’s nothing on tele, my computer is bust,
And I only read when Miss says I must.
I could play on my Wii but I’ve done all those games
And the kids I am texting keep calling me names.
I need something to do.” Is the young school boy’s cry
As another wet holiday Monday goes by.

“Son, I’m amazed,” said the modern day gran
As she stood by the cooker opening a can.
“We didn’t have tele but found plenty to do;
From morning to night the days simply flew.
As we played whip and top, two balls and tag;
And hopscotch and marbles, which we kept in a bag.
I know what we’ll do.” is the grandma’s reply
As another wet afternoon passes by.

“Son, I’ve a plan,” said this wonderful gran,
As she stood in the kitchen washing her pan.
“We’ll turn off the tele, then I know what we’ll do;
We’ll root out the scrapbook and scissors and glue.
And you can have fun while I make us some drinks,
Then we’ll play scrabble and tiddly-winks.”
“Oh, I love coming here!” is the boy’s parting cry,
As a totally fun-packed wet day passes by.

This is top level in my book. You need to publish your writings so more can enjoy and learn from them.

Today's generation needs to realize the richness of Scripture and prayer life; because young ppl would not be bored if they did.

They also need to realise that there are other forms of pass times other than hand held screens. My grandkids weren't allowed screens when they came to stay apart from when cuddled up on the sofa with me after tea when they were in their pyjamas. But they loved coming and the games we played and the scrapbook and cutting out.

There is so much trash on TV and the internet screens.

Has anyone seen this one before? It seems very true.

Two Kinds of People

There are two kinds of people on earth today,
Two kinds of people no more I say.
Not the good or the bad, for it's well understood,
The good are half bad, the bad are half good.

Not the happy or sad, for in the swift-flying years,
Bring each man his laughter, each man his tears.
Not the rich or the poor, for to count a man's wealth,
You must know the state of his conscience and health.

Not the humble and proud, for in life's busy span,
Who puts on vain airs is not counted a man.
No! the two kinds of people on earth I mean,
Are the people who lift, the people who lean.

Wherever you go you'll find the world's masses
Are ever divided into these two classes.
And, strangely enough, you will find, too, I mean,
There is only one lifter to twenty who lean.

In which class are you? Are you easing the load
Of the overtaxed lifters who toiled down the road?
Or are you a leaner who lets others bear,
Your portion of worry and labor and care?”

Contingent Grace (To the tune of Amazing Grace).

contingent grace how sweet the sound
that saves by works foreseen
I once was lost but came around
was blind but chose to see

'twas grace that looked ahead in time
and saw that I would be
never bound by sin and such
but with a will that's free
As Tennyson said about 19th century politicians, it's '....lies and lies and lies and lies...'.

But the spoof words express very well what so many North American people called evangelicals, influenced by BG Evangelistic Association culture, etc., actually believe.

We do need to get back to the grace of God in the Gospel. Ephesians and John's First Epistle are good places to read.
