A friend whose name is Angel is battling Leukemia. He's in treatment, Chemo.

He's also a member of the special forces. Just today he found out the military is intending, trying,to send him to Baghdad!

Please,if you feel led and I know I'm new asking this of everyone here but if you feel God tug at your heart please pray he remains stateside.

He's also battling side effects from Chemo and is not tip top.

Please God,keep our Angel here safe at home. In Jesus name, Amen.

He came to work this afternoon. I didn't get a chance to speak with him but seeing him at work meant he wasn't on a plane going into a warzone.

How can they send someone battling Leukemia and suffering kidney failure due to the chemo? How?:disrelieved:

You have the prayers of a man whose son served in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and came back kinda messed up.

I find that astonishing also. Unless he's got some indispensable skill that doesn't require physical strength, that strikes me as lunacy.
I also do not understand that. If someone is seriously ill, they cannot be expected to work.

Perhaps they mean once he is well, he will deploy?

No. They're talking now. Knowing his condition. He said he's just waiting for the notice as to what day he's leaving. Their email already told him he's been chosen.

It's not right.

I don't know but also question why they would send someone battling what he is to a war zone!
God be with Angel!

I agree. In a special forces unit I would think there would be many people trained in certain skill sets. If there's only one I'd think that would compromise the whole mission should they be lost in battle.

Whoever is trying to deploy him probably doesn't even know that he is seriously ill. The government gets red tape mixed up sometimes. Once it's in the computer, they go by what's in the computer.

I've heard about living people that Social Security says they are dead and stops their benefits! It's crazy what the government does sometimes.

If I was him, I would contact someone. If that person cannot help, he should ask to talk with someone higher up. He should ask how someone fighting Leukemia and Kidney disease is supposed to deploy.

Doesn't make sense.

It doesn't make sense. I think he's trying to contact someone.

Wouldn't they know his condition? He's likely using his insurance through the military for treatments.
