Unfortunately the kind of "dialogue" that goes on with interfaith ecumenism is not reasoning from the scriptures or preaching the gospel.........it is jumping through hoops trying hard not to offend. It is friendship with the world and being unequally yoked instead of remaining separate. Of course we are to evangelize, and without talking down or condemning people....nobody is saying otherwise. But do it God's way, which doesn't involve enmity with God and being unequally yoked with those you are sharing the gospel with, nor compromising the gospel message to avoid offending.

What is the point of approaching ANYBODY with the Gospel if He isn’t working through us.

We were commanded to SHARE the Gospel and to introduce people to it - as the Holy Spirit GUIDES us and works IN them.

Tell that to Paul and Peter and Timothy and every other Apostle and evangelist in the NT.
Dialogue is HOW one introduces another to Christ. We are absolutely called to have dialogue with non-believers.

Jesus COMMANDS us to evangelize. Evangelization is NOT talking DOWN to people and condemning them to hell. THAT kind of judgement is for GOD and Him alone.
Evangelization is sharing the Good News by having conversation with them.

Your contextual butchery of 2 Cor 6:14-17 aside - it all depends on the type of “ecumenism“ that you’re talking about. Paul is NOT preaching isolationism. He’s telling his readers NOT to fall for the ungodly practices and beliefs. And because some – or many – will refuse to be converted, we must walk away from them.

Ecumenism that accepts all aberrant beliefs in the name of “friendship” is NOT something that should be supported.
Ecumenism that seeks to celebrate our shared beliefs while informing each other through Scripture and history about those things that keep us apart. Instead of KILLING each other – as in past centuries – they dialogue in an attempt to understand each other’s different beliefs.

As Charlie Kirk professed, “When people STOP talking, that’s when you get violence… because you start to think the other side is so evil.”

Jesus stated in NO uncertain terms that HIS Church is to remain ONE – as He and the Father are ONE (John 17:20-23). The so-called Reformation dashed that hope.
