When I heard the word rainbow I was a little shaken, but apparently it's from a story where pets can go and run free to be reunited with their owners:

My sweet boy, gone a bit over a year now. I found his Sylvester pillow this morning clearing things and cannot bring myself to toss it. I know, silly. He was an extraordinary dog...smart as a scholar, lol, sweetest disposition, such silly antics and so very obedient. Oh how I miss him so much.
My favorite pet was a dog that I had as a kid. He was a white lab. Really loving dog. He is missed. We named him Rose because at first we thought he was a girl and the name stuck. That name always bugged me, but the dog was my best friend for years.
hahaha, yeah and I'm the kid with the boy dog named Rose so all the other kids can make fun of me on the play groundHi Devin, have you not heard of "Rosie Greer"? Short for Roosevelt.
