You are making a claim so state your evidence that Christians ever believed in reincarnation, or that it was banned.

it seems you and Davy neither know your Bible nor your Christianity imho - twinc

Twinc, that is not an answer to his question.
He has already said that he isn't aware of any Christians who believe it, or any statement banning the teaching.

So, in light of that...do you know Christians who believe it, and when was the ban made and by whom?
You have our attention, we are listening!

You are going back to pagan roots, twinc. People have believed in reincarnation, but when you speak of Bible support for it you express your own ignorance of scripture. You have listened to or read the writings of some man or men who twisted the scriptures to support his or their declarations. And, no, Elijah was not reincarnated as John the Baptist. The simple reason is that it goes against God's overall plan. When you understand His plan better, you will also understand why there has not been and will not be any reincarnation. Any of us here might be willing to help you understand our thoughts on it, but since it is your thread, you should be the one to provide explanations first.

how daft does it have to get besides not only not knowing the bible or their Christianity some even claim to know God's overall plan but not according to the Bible which clearly states that not just Nicodemus but all God's children must be and will be born again as Christians - this is God's overall plan according to the bible for those with eyes to see and ears to hear - this is the really good news that should really be liked and not rubbish which is preferred - twinc

I understand that but not why he does not and will not understand what is definitely part and parcel of the bible and Christianity - btw if it is not in the bible why was it banned from early Christian belief[QED] - also why does it feature and figure on the internet free for all to google - you don't have to just take my word for it or that of anyone else but decide for yourself - I HOPE SOMEBODY LIKES THIS - twinc

Being born again or born from above is NOT equal to reincarnation. I don't claim to understand all of God's plan nor probably does anyone else here, but some of us have enough knowledge about His plan to know that you're coming from the wrong place and heading in the wrong direction. It is not about the carnal ways of men [which include incarnation]. but about the spiritual Way of God. Look more deeply into the what word, "reincarnation" really means as opposed to what Jesus was talking about with Nicodemus and pray about it...

Some of the Jews believed in the idea of reincarnation, but not any Christian Church.

There may have been some so-called Christian Gnostics like in Alexandria that believed such a doctrine, but those cannot truly be called Christians, for Gnosticism is an antichrist doctrine.

could you just possibly produce the exact wording of the ban so that we can all see what is banned and what is not and why - it seems the ban was imposed by an emperor and not a Pope to a belief accepted by a Pope etc twinc
