Too many prefer to trust religion to tell them about God and what He wants from them.

In fact, in some cases, religion becomes a replacement for God.
The "religious" relinquish their direct relationship with God (probably due to fear)
in favor of a step-by-step formula provided by religious leaders.

Discussion questions:
- Do you know someone for whom religion has become a barrier to a direct relationship with God?
- Has religion replaced a direct relationship with God for you?
- What needs to happen to remove this barrier?

People go to church to meet with God.
They sit in an auditorium and observe the goings-on.
After the service they return to their lives.

Ask them what they believe and they will tell you the position of their church.
Basically, the church is their god.

Not everyone is like you described. Not if one is born again...knows the Lord.

I'm unable to attend church services now but always loved going to hear the sermon, prayers and hymns. It always gave an uplift to my spirit. And yes, I have a daily, even minute by minute, personal relationship with the Lord.

Why do you make the assumption that Everyone in a church is there for the same reason?

You have a personal faith, don't you believe that other people have personal faith?

I agree.
Yet there are many who are very much as I described.
They leave the "God stuff" to the professionals.
