This is mind blowing in so many ways.OK, so... I don't have a great appreciation for this particular genre of music to begin with, so bear with be a bit. What is it about this type of music that works/speaks to you? Particularly with metal, the lyric (which is very much the important part if they're trying to differentiate from non-Christian metal) is barely discernible. I truly don't get it.Also, I'm a little concerned by your perception of gender roles. If acting like a man is equivalent to the behaviors exhibited by the crowd and band in the first video you posted (very physical... primal even, loud, attention seeking, vocal, etc.), then how, may I ask, is the other half of the population supposed to behave - both in general and in this setting.
So who am I talking to? Are you a guy, girl -- young. older? This tends to be a question posed by women. What I have learned is that women hate metal (as a general rule). Why --- I'm not really sure (you ladies are frankly missing out). However, women tend to like boy bands and Barry Manilow and Christian music like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AltGNRMe8Kw -- now THAT is the true mystery XD."OK, so... HUGE question, I'll answer this later on."Particularly with metal, the lyric (which is very much the important part if they're trying to differentiate from non-Christian metal) is barely discernible. I truly don't get it."Well, if you listen to this stuff as much as I have -- you learn how to determine what they are saying. Its kind of like listening to someone over a walkie-talkie radio. Its very hard to determine what they are saying at first, but eventually, your brain adapts and you begin to understand what they are saying. And if you can understand one band -- you can understand the others."Also, I'm a little concerned by your perception of gender roles. You are saying metal is

hysical -- yea like football XDPrimal -- ditto HAHALoud -- That kind of comes with the territory. I like my coffee hot thank you.Attention Seeking -- Now this one I don't really understand. I mean, aren't all bands (which are up on a stage in the spot light) technically attention seeking?Vocal -- yea like foot -- you get the idea
As for the opposite sex -- let them act like the opposite sex. I think women should be interested in womanly things(whatever that may translate to). And if you noticed, some gals were there and having fun. Some were there because their boyfriends/husbands like Christian metal, others may themselves like the genre. "What is it about this type of music that works/speaks to you?" There are many, MANY different themes in Christian metal which speak to me. I am going to copy one of my previous posts to answer this question. (Here are a few things).Lets take a look at Christian Metal and see what it talks about:
1. The COLD HARD TRUTH about America and the American church.Band: O.C. Supertones -- One Voice"Are we less like a family, and more like a fist-fight?Are we there, but not quite Are hypocrites children of light?" (talking about the church body)Band: Barren Cross -- Killers of the Unborn (Nuff Said)Band: XL and Death Before Dishonor -- Sodom and America"I'm not saying its all over for the Red, White, and Blue. BUT, if things don't change, man I'm tellin you! Its all over for Sodom and America!"
2. The MIGHTY GodBand: Barren Cross -- King of Kings"He's the King of King's! THE MASTER OF ALL THINGS! The POWER and the SOURCE! The EVERLASTING Lord!".
3. Spiritual Warfare (big time)Band: Deliverance -- Weapons of our Warfare"To take dominion over satan's own ground! RISE UP, with the sword of God and keep your ARMOR ON!!!!"These things are rarely talked about in most churches or in any Christian music genre -- especially the part about
God being unhappy with the Church's performance in America. Also, most Christians treat spiritual warfare like its a joke. If we brought the fight to the enemy (the devil) America wouldn't be in such sad shape. And lastly, Christian Metal talks about Jesus in terms of being the Lion of Judah. Yes, it is true that He is the lamb of God (that was slain), but he is also a Lion, and this part of God is definitely on display in Revelations.
"11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." Rev 19:11-21This Jesus is talked about extensively in Christian MetalChristian Metal is ALOT like the prophets from the old Testament. Up-front and in your face concerning the truth -- observe:Nathan was a phophet during King David's time. Nathan came to visit David and "discuss" what David did to Uriah. "1And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. 2The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: 3But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. 4And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. 5
And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: 6And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. 7And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 8And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. 9Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 10Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife." 2 Samuel 12:1-10Hope this helps
