That's why we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

True.

Filipp 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,

1Petr 4:18 And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

VERSUS

Rom 8:38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
1John 4:17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.
1John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both are true.
What's the balance, there must be.
Paul believed he would receive a crown.
Yes he did, but he was also fearful of becoming a castaway in 1 Cor 9:27. So yes, there is both waiting....a crown or outer darkness. God judges us according to our deeds/works (or as Epi says, "what we do with what we have been given").
Tell me what you believe about those believers thrown into outer darkness.
I believe they buried their treasure. They didn't prepare themselves for the wedding. They didn't sit in the lowest place (as in, when you enter a room take the lowest place). They didn't not love their lives unto death, (they thought their outer man could be saved together with their inner man).
They didn't believe that,
"the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Heb. 4:12)
That’s just off the top of my head, I will think more on it.
Also, I don't believe that they could endure the chastening of the Lord.
Heb. 12 7-12
"7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby."
1. Is it eternal ?
2. Can the believers repent ?
3. Does God's mercy stop for them at death ?
1. Are God's judgments eternal?? Jude 1:13 "Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever."
2. Today is the day of salvation.
Seek the Lord while he may be found.
They can repent NOW, they have a lifetime to repent, but on judgment day it will too late.
3. God says, He will have mercy on whom He will. My answer from me is, these things are too high for me.
That’s God’s, and only God’s judgment. That’s why it's wise to fear.
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. (Prov.1:7; Prov 9:10; Ps 111:10)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)
You have not beein listening to him very long. or he has done for you like has has many, and convinced you that he does it.
I listened to every one of his videos except two whose titles did not interest me at all. Scarcely does he FAIL to mention scripture and the two levels of righteousness and holiness. And I will probably purchase his book at some point but I'm guessing that’s what the videos cover and in the videos he goes over it repeatedly. And in here, he has spoken of those two levels repeatedly. So I think you are profoundly deaf to say he has cleverly convinced me that he does so without doing so.
By the unbelieving I was referring to those who have never known Christ.
The unbelieving Israelites......speaks to the Israelites under the Law...........who wouldn't enter into the new covenant by faith. But you need to calm down otherwise you will miss or misunderstand what is being said.
See? And there’s the “calm down” I was talking about earlier.
I would be interested to know which titles didn't interest you. And the book goes deeper than I can go on a video or a forum. :) It's a big book...that took me 1.5 years to write. I wrote it during Covid. I NEVER would have written it if I wasn't house bound. Some might say that the Covid epidemic happened for that very purpose. :dusted:
I only remember one of the titles was about Jordan Peterson and I have watched the man slowly come to God amidst all that the world and the devil could and did do to him. Even his earlier videos showed him to be righteous but his later ones are phenomenal. I didn’t need to watch a video about him because I have listened to him extensively. The other one might have been about…a revival?
You have taken from the old and the new. The balance lies in rightly dividing it without making yourself toast by either taking away the righteousness that God accepts OR offending holiness. The exact thing that episkopos so painstakingly does.
His book goes very, very deep. Be ready to be inspired, challenged, and encouraged toward the Lord in a good way. It's not a fast read though, because every paragraph is jammed packed with the truth!
I don’t read anything that IS a fast read. Or even a one-and-done read.
Hey, we were talking about Molinos earlier in here. I got a lot of good from him but he lost me farther in and went off the rails a bit. You don’t need him if you have Fenelon.
The gospel I teach is based on both the POWER of God AND the MERCY of God. I am 100% biblical.
The gospel of the modern age (the "other gospel" that Paul warns us about) is by preference...molly-coddling the flesh and denying both the POWER and the MERCY of God...redirecting all the nice sounding things to those who are gullible enough to believe them.
What is more likely...people who will no longer be able to endure sound doctrine...is it directed at an individual (like me)...or by the spirit of the times believed by the majority? And I'm just pointing it out.
Who can think that far?
I'm not going to argue over it, I know you're wrong, most of the people on this thread know you are wrong so I say you're right where God wants you to be.
