Mary, Mary, quite contrary
As I said, the New Testament did not negate slavery. (Eph. 6:5-6) "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh..." Also, (1Peter 2:18) "Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear..."
How could the war be over slavery when slavery was protected by the U.S. Constitution? There was no reason for the South to go to war over slavery when it was protected? Oh, because you call something a 'dead horse' then everyone should stop arguing with you? Not hardly. The horse aint dead cause you say so.
Scripture doesn't say slavery is a sin. (Matt. 7 or 22) has nothing to say about the institution of slavery. (John 15:10-12) has nothing to say about slavery. You see, Mary...you are saying slavery is a sin but it is not. It appeals to your do good heart strings, like it does with all do gooders. But it is not a sin. Thus the Scriptures you give do not pertain to slavery. Now, the slave owner is to treat his slaves fairly. (Eph. 6:9)
Seems, Mary, it is you fufilling (2 Peter 3:16) And, if I ever were a slave, you might ask me first if I want to be freed.
The discussion was over secession. You and others want to bring up the slavery issue. Which is fine, but this discussion is originally about secession.
Wrong again Mary. The South didn't secede because of slavery. And the North didn't attack the South to free the slaves. Do a little real research instead of just the history text books they give you today. Try and lay aside your blatant hatred for the South and your lying glorification of the North. Do you think a history teacher can do that?
Here in the U.S. all slavery today is illegal.
