1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. - John 17:1-6.
There is a mind-set in religion that has a person that lives a good life a good person, or makes a person a part of their particular understanding. That is true in the world if you live a certain way that will dictate your status with society. Religion is a set of rules and regulations for living in the world. They tell you how to live and it is an easy life, just false life. You must be an actor (not unlike Hollywood) to be like them. Did we mention you cannot be yourself in religion.
Example: in the world (religion or other wise) if you break the law you will be handled accordingly and be judged a "bad" person. If you are a fine upstanding citizen you will be accepted into the good person world. The world has it's ways and you will have to fit the ways of the world or you will be an outcast. Have you ever been part of that group, I'm raising my hand.
Note: The world will carry on, it may sway one way or the other but it has always kept a center mark of what it does in bringing a individual to Christ. The world is a school ground to move people toward salvation (religion can be like a womb for birthing children). Salvation can happen anytime any way but the majority of saved people come through some kind of devastation in the world. Coming to an end of yourself is devastation.
Look at the world, it stays in a upheaval (religion included) it always has and always will. If you can see the world and it's purpose in creation then you can understand salvation. No one is exempt from the world. It is not an elective it is a prerequisite. Your father already signed you up, enlisted for gaining Knowledge. Even if that Knowledge says "I was stuck in the world (religion or other wise) with it's ways and hard times and the Lord saved me." That is the start of deliverance from the world. It's like my old pal Don Byrd said "I don't have circumstances and situations," anymore. Then he explained circumstances still came but they had done there job so to say, they did not effect him the same because he knew why they were there.
What is that? That is a believer that is not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.
Such as; we are to rule the world! that is a wind of doctrine. It does not come from the word of God so you can allow your mind to get fixed on that issue if you will. That is a biggie for believers who lean heavy on the kingdom message. Part of the kingdom message is we as Christian's are to rule the world. The gospel says we are to have an influence in the world, do you really want to rule this place. We can't even balance a check book and keep the bills paid half the time (speaking for myself), why would I rule anything. The thought of it sounds tyrannical the very thing we preach against.
The world (religion or other wise) is not for you to rule over it is a schoolhouse and should be used as such. Get your education (father inspired) and move on, do not stay in the world or try to rule over it. It does what the world does it will chew you up and spit you out. We keep going back and forth playing the game (I'm not talking about sins, I'm talking about thinking you are part of the world), come out from her and be ye separate.
There is major concerns for alot of believers today politically, everything has it's time. The world will keep rocking along until the Lord is done with it. We can set a major example for those that are in the world. These times Christianity can shine as a beacon of light (the world is lost) and be that good salting savory taste. We can throw fuel on a fire or we can put out a fire with our words, with what we know (we need to know something in these kind of times). A kind word will turn away wrath. We have enough wrath in the world surely someone is looking for a kind word.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. - John 16:33.
