Thanks dear friend. I try to find videos that are fairly brief. Dr. Smith is quite good as is his site Unlocking the Bible.

Great teaching, @Debp ! Thanks for sharing this.

What Smith says reminds me of the words of a hymn.

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Thank you @Prayer Warrior, for sharing this lovely memory of my childhood church-attending years. Dad's side of the family were good-hearted Free Will Baptists, but not all of them went to church regularly. Mom's kinfolks were all faithful congregants and regular attendees. This was sung quite often in my home church being my mother's - Church of Christ. I no longer am affiliated with them since my doctrinal beliefs have changed dramatically since that time. Still, this beloved hymn brings warmth to the soul. God bless you.

Hi, glad to meet you! :)

I love hymns too! Back in the day, I was in a church choir, and we sang a lot of hymns. I haven’t attended a church that uses hymns for years. I miss singing them!
