2. The actual warmth of the wood-stove

I think that saying originated in the days of using an axe to cut down trees and prepare the firewood. You burn a lot more calories with that method than using a chainsaw.

I can vaguely remember my dad sharpening his chainsaws but I am sure it was with some kind of file. My sister's and I weren't allowed to use them because apparently they are for the males in the family

One of the bad things using a chainsaw is what is called kick-back. The nose of the chain can catch in the wood and with the momentum of the chain kick right up back at you onto your face or body. Even a strong man is in danger from that. I have had one or two kick backs experiences, but nothing bad happened. One time I was tired and the chain was slowing down and brushed my leg on the side of the chain, and it did not even tear the pants.
