this Muslim of yours calls himself a Muslim, but he's not following islam by befriending you
this Muslim clearly acts like a Christian

I’m certain that he’s a Muslim. I went to the mosque with him and met privately with the Imam.

A Muslim acting like a Christian. For what purpose, I wonder.

of course we can be friends with anyone, religion doesn't matter

Thanks. I value your opinion. Some Christians have told me the same thing that you have. But some Christians have told that it’s not possible. (That’s how I lost my best Christian friend.) Which group would you say is practicing their religion?

I am not saying that he's not a Muslim, I'm saying he doesn't follow Islam (on this particular issue)

Islam clearly teaches Muslims cannot be friends with Kafir (كَافِر): Kafir - Wikipedia

Obviously it is not right to reject someone because of religion, Jesus-Christ taught pagans the religion of truth and ate with tax collectors and sinners
A Christian must be friend with non-Christians to convert them

A question for non-Christians: Why do you, or why would you, want to have a Christian friend?

Does it put you off or draw you to Christianity when you hear some Christians say that they don’t want non-Christian friends?

I've given up on the word or even using the word 'Christian' these days although not for its true faith or doctrines that it should represent. The label is not to be trusted as being genuine for anyone wearing it.

The word does not mean much to me anymore, as the majority calling themselves Christian, are not IMO.

So, I do not deliberately and especially, look for friends with the label 'Christian.'

And of course I do not care if these labelled 'Christians' don't want friends not labelled as Christian.'

And if I accidently acquired a 'Christian' friend that suited my spirit, then that's a plus.

There’s a thread in one of the “Christians Only” forums asking if Christians should have non-Christian friends. I thought it might be interesting to approach and explore the question from the opposite direction: Should a non-Christian have Christian friends?
I wouldn't, if I had made a conscious choice to live my life in sin and open rebellion against God, I wouldn't want a bunch of sober, chaste, and boring saints hanging around, that's for sure. I doubt I would be hanging out in christian forums either, to each his own.

Is there no difference between “want” and “should”?

There are some here who have sought, and are seeking, Christian friendships.

Would you befriend such a person?

Just as an aside, do you think a person must affirm the Nicene Creed in order to be a Christian?

You may have a different opinion if you ever visit an atheist forum. :funlaugh2

With no information beyond inexplicable silence to go on -
