I also don't have a problem with the author invoking the personified Logos. Since John 1:1-5 echoes the personified Wisdom of Proverbs 8, and since Philo of Alexandria was himself Jewish, this is within the perimeter of contemporary Jewish thought.

I have a problem there. The personification of Wisdom may be Jewish, but it's at odds with the rest of the Bible.

Not all the books in the accepted canon will pass that test. Can you live with that?

If that were actually true, then that is claiming the Lord failed to control what went in to His Canon.

I've run across numerous people that claimed the Lord just couldn't cut the mustard.

Obviously the devil is speaking thru these people.

Yep, some folks believe it's not possible to know what God says or doesn't say.

So they turn away from the Lord and go do drugs and get drunk! It's a real shame they'll go to hell too.
Oh it's possible... it's not even difficult. The parts that say "thus saith the Lord" or "the Word of the Lord came to..." are authentic. THe people ascribing inspiration to other parts are in error.

OK so we're back to claiming the Lord failed to control what went in to His Canon.

That's false doctrine and cherry picking leads to more false doctrine.

This explains some of the goofy stuff you post. Thanks for sharing. :funlaugh2

So... I believe the Bible is true in what it claims is inspired or not... and you believe... what exactly?

I tell you what (hank hill voice), if you read that bible and start hating people, then you might need to re-evaluate your relationship with Yahavah/God.
