Where do your verses show that 1 Thess 4.17 is simply a short stop in the clouds to collect believers before landing on solid earth ?

1Thessalonians 4:17 is the rapture, removing believers from the field of the coming battle. Those who are raptured presumably go to heaven.

"Fire and final judgment" comes after the Millennium in Revelation 20:10-14. Jesus will bring all believers in heaven with him at that time (1Thessalonians 4:14-17).
