I am single, I do not date and I still live with my parents. By the world's standards I am awfully pathetic. But I do not care about this fading world. By the Lord's standard's I am a passionate, creative servant of Christ.

I am artistic, I like drawing and painting. I also write stories, hopefully I can get my novel finished and published. I am practicing writing short stories, and poetry.


I am seeking the Lord. I am reading the Bible all through. Right now I am in Isaiah. I am praying more often.

At one time I had a domestic dream of marrying 'Mr. Right.', leaving my parents and moving into a lovely Victorian house with a garden, grow beautiful flowers, vegetables, herbs and fruit, cooking with my home-grown produce, decorating the house, having sweet, well-mannered smart children, helping them with school projects, Make paintings for the house, clean up, help husband with household or yard projects, go to church, help out in church, celebrate holidays, especially Christmas.


But that did not happen. I never met the right man, and I fear scammers and abusers. Jesus Christ is my Prince Charming.

Here's what I read in the Bible about staying single:

"I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs, -how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world-how he can please his wife-and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lords affairs. Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world- how she can please her husband. I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord. " 1 Corinthians 7:32-35


Because of this, I will not seek a boyfriend or husband. I think it is God's will for me to stay single and celibate. I will not sin by fornication, it is too common in USA for people to have sex outside of marriage, they shame the sanctity of marriage, God created Adam and Eve, who are called, "the man and his wife," in Genesis first chapter. Adam and Eve were automatically married by the Lord. Marriage is sacred, holy, people need to wait for the right time, wait until they are ready for marriage. Sin is too common in America. I will not indulge in it.

It is biblical that you are not to seek a boyfriend or husband, God's Word states a MAN who finds a wife has found a good thing. While you are waiting be that good wife to Jesus, and pray so that when God sees fit to send that Godly MAN you will recognize him and receive him. We were created to be help-meets for Adam, before sin entered in we were Adam -the life giving one, equal to him, after sin came in Adam named his wife Eve prophesying in an act of faith and hope, Eve meaning “life” or “living one.” Based on God's promise, Adam knew that life would come from her! Eve would be the mother of all living, the mother of every human being in history.

I admire those who can remain single and be content with Christ. There are tradeoffs to each lifestyle. I have a husband and two small children but lack the extra time I once had for enriching my spirit.

Do not succumb to peer pressure. I think what you are doing is commendable.
From a woman that has been in abusive marriage and had my kids witness some things kids shouldn't have to see, they too are remaining single in this world today. The bible says, seek first the kingdom of God and all other things will be added.
There is also the scripture

We have a say in whether we follow satan's paths. That is where scripture comes into play. That is where prayer and God will be magnified when you turn to God even more to find the correct path to take.. And as you do this your relationship is strong and unless there is a Godly man, they won't interest you. I admire your strength you are getting.
I would like to serve the Lord again however, situations are preventing me from doing that especially where I am stuck at.
