I'm at work. I man the phones and email, and supervise the shop, and things are really slow most days. Even when the shop is busy my part is pretty small, but necessary. So I have some free time. You don't have home internet? Are you at the library using their internet? I cut the cord of cable a loooong time ago. Do not watch TV at all but I do have Alexa and, already made playlists from all of my CD's. The other way would be much more expensive. One day we won't even have access to any of them I think.
I believe that the apostles were creating and teaching the words of Jesus
and not the Old Testament
Why would the apostles be teaching the Torah, which had already been around for a few thousand years?
Undoubtedly, the apostles were themselves writing down scriptures that were being copied and shared with the newly formed churches.
God grants authority to his two witnesses to prophesy for 1260 days clothed in sackcloth. 1260 days is the same as 42 months and a time, times, and half a time. This time marker is the time of tribulation and the tribulation is not local to the region, it affects the entire world, and so do they."These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will."
How do you come up with the thinking they "affect all those who live on the entire earth." That isn't what the words imply.
It's good not to know what we believe. That's why we keep searching.
"The greatest impediment Christians have obtaining truth is when they think they already have it."
So you must think the great tribulation times is local to Jerusalem then. Even though in many scriptures it's description is worldwide. Such as Daniel 7Well, yes, the time is Tribulation. But how to you arrive at the conclusion that this affects the entire world? So, the best I can do is presume. Is it Verse 6 and 9?
In Rev 11 it's the word 'ge' is used for earth it's the most common word for earth in the NT.
Twice the word is used to denote a country. "To smite the land" is how the interlinear words it.
The interlinear uses the word earth and land for 'ge'.
In Revelation 11:6 the TR uses the word LAND with the article indicating a specific land area. Used without the article it has much broader meanings.
It doesn't seem to me that what these two do in the Temple court while witnessing to Muslims affects the entire planet. Maybe the region but not the entire planet. I tend to think it's more local.
The word earth is a tricky one to interpret. The use of the article or lack of its use makes a big difference. Esp. when used with the word ALL. In Rev. 11:6vthe article IS used with LAND indicating a specific area.
Hi Hobie,So we see how many preconceived ideas and wrong teachings that have come into the church, can be brought in and have been, even by well meaning men and become tradition, but not be true. We also see this in the idea that the wicked will continue to live eternally in hell, or that the Resurrection changed the Sabbath, or that man is immortal, etc.. So we have to look at what was brought in from outside of the scriptures, and being picked up although not its true meaning. The Mark of the Beast has been with us from almost the Early Church as
Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, foretold the great apostasy which would result and we see it in the establishment of the Roman papal power. He declared that before the return of Christ would, "come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who exalteth himself above all that is called God;" Even at that early date he saw, creeping into the church, errors in belief that would prepare the way for the false teachings to come in, and history confirmed how it happen.
Little by little, and then more openly as it increased in strength and gained control of believers, paganism and idol worship came into the church. Almost imperceptibly the traditions and customs of Pagan Rome found their way into the Christian church from the former center of the Empire and spread. It had been held back by the persecutions by the Roman Emperors, but as persecution ceased, and Christianity was accepted, the true church laid aside the humble simplicity of Christ for the rites, sacraments and pomp of ancient Rome and the practices of pagan priests and ancient heathen worship with its Babylonian/Greek/Roman gods inscribed with Christians names.
Technology has not only made it possible, but it has also made it probable. And the people will ease right into it. Except that the people must also worship the beast and his image. Some will refuse that. See the evil best worship occurs first before the mark is made into the people. If you refuse to worship the beast or the seemingly living beast image, you are killed v15.Expect the unexpected when looking for the mark of the beast. Example cellphones and Cell phone watches. You can purchase with these. In less than 40 yrs. we went from house phones to everyone carrying a cellphone. Try leaving yours at home.

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.
12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives [f]those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [g]the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
