What can Christians look forward to in the near future? We will see Jesus move into action to eliminate false religion as well as corrupt human rulership. A great crowd will receive his protection and survive the upcoming great tribulation, with the prospect of enjoying the blessings of an earthly paradise eternally. A vast number will be resurrected and will have the opportunity to be liberated from all the effects of our inherited sin, raised to perfect physical and spiritual health. That will be the blessings of the Kingdom we that we all pray to come

Yes, I agree based on what I read here. Two things you mentioned that Christians seem to overlook is the part you mentioned about an earthly paradise. It's not about "dying and going to heaven", but the Kingdom coming here, on this earth the way it was originally intended back in the garden days. Another thing you mention is resurrection. I think a lot of Christians forget about that. Years ago when I first met my wife, she did not seem to be aware of a resurrection but that the "soul goes onto heaven" (that's poor, poor biblical teaching that shepherds ought to be ashamed of). You don't mention specifically about resurrection, but I am of the belief that we sleep until a resurrection as a "disembodied soul" does not make sense. A soul is a living (breathing) person and the breath of God given gives us the spiritual part (like Him) that goes back to him. God stores our minds, our very essence, sorta like software) as a pattern to raise us again. This does not imply consciousness, but rather the source of life that he gave and returned to him until the resurrection. Being scientific, I want to add that a person who "sleeps" has no awareness of time, so their next (instant) moment is in the future, like a time machine, to the end times. The dead don't miss us as their next conscious moment is with us (in whatever state), but rather here on earth we miss them.

I fully agree sir, matter of fact the Bible confirms what you say at Ecc 9:5,6. Since there is no knowledge in the grave, then obviously the resurrection will seem instantaneous, even though some have been in the grave for millenniums.

I often thought regarding the dead, "I just died, and what are you all doing here already?" To which the others will say, "I've been thinking the same thing." LOL

Hello Robert, liafailrock,

Would like to share with you some of my own understanding,

My belief involves being resurrected in spiritual bodies. Which talked about in 1 Corinthians 15. Hope for the future in leaving this body is going to be resurrected in a new spiritual body to able to enjoy and dwell with God, and the Lord Jesus Christ - Lord God Almighty. To no longer have any worry about this body hurting or ruining anymore.

Fellowship in the Heavenly Jerusalem in the Light of the Kingdom of God, staying busy, maybe rest from time to time, (not totally sure), also there is a gate that has not be closed off to the outside, where darkness resides, where those people who had made the choice not have faith, live.

My hope also involves being able to go out to those in the darkness, and help them. That is my own personal view of what Heaven will be like, with accordance to Revelation 22.

This what I believe though others are free to disagree, or share insight, or if you may be lead to do.

Thank you for reading, and for your time,
With love in Christ,
Matthew G.
