Today's Text comes from the Book of Psalms, Chapter 51, Verse 10.
(Psalms 51:10) NLT "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me."
We can fight envy by being humble and satisfied with what we have. Thus, we will not leave a place where it can grow in the heart. If we are humble, we will not have a very high opinion of ourselves and will not think we deserve more than others. Whoever is satisfied with what they have is content and does not compare themselves with others. We who are humble and satisfied are happy for the people who receive something good.
We need God's Holy Spirit to avoid developing such harmful feelings as envy and instead be humble and content. God's Spirit helps us examine our innermost thoughts and motives. With Divine help, we can substitute harmful thoughts and feelings for uplifting ones.
