Genesis 2:7 says, "And YHWH God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” It's the combination of God forming a flesh and blood body out of dust from the ground and blowing the breath of life(spirit) into the nostrils of this flesh and blood body that makes man a living soul or living person.
Genesis 2:7 is evidence from scripture that man doesn't have a soul, but instead Genesis 2:7 is evidence from scripture that man is a soul. So when someone quotes a scripture that the soul leaves the body or the spirit leaves the body that scripture they're quoting isn't talking about a living soul or a living person leaving the body because as the scripture Genesis 2:7 tells us it that combination of the breath of life(spirit) and that flesh and blood body which makes a man a living soul or living person. It's evidence from scripture that the living person ceases to exist, because it's not the breath of life(spirit) alone without the flesh and blood body that makes a living soul or living person. Neither is it the flesh and blood body alone without the breath of life (spirit) that makes a living soul or living person.
