I like Spurgeon, had a whole book of his sermons on my old e-reader but it went wrong and decided to get a different make of reader ( went from a Kobo to a Kindle ) so the sermons were lost !!
A shame you lost them, Rita.....

His quotes are so encouraging, aren't they?

Sounds good, Rita; his books continue to be in print, and no wonder.

We were also talking a bit about how te moko is getting popular, as per Angelina in NZ.

The ta moko represents an individuals geneology. Would be considered as cultural appropriation if it were even considered over here. Not really a good idea.

I didn’t agree with everything he stood for , but his ability to expound the word of God was amazing.

I'd be hard pressed to find something to disagree with. Yes, he was a very gifted expositor, and what he said is really memorable...

I don’t think he believed in the gifts still being used today, I do. I don’t want to make this into a debate thread about that, but that was one thing I didn’t agree with xx

He was , but did often get insights into peoples sins when he was preaching, so he must have questioned things at time xx
It doesn’t take anything away from his quotes or preaching , unless he did a sermon the the gifts of the Spirit of course ! Lol
