How much further can this go? We now have the extraordinary situation where St. Paul’s Cathedral is being made available to a nightclub for the next four years.
Let that sink in.
A building that was consecrated and built for the worship and glory of Almighty God is being opened up to nightclub culture.
This isn’t simply a question of music.
It reveals something far deeper: a complete loss of distinction between the sacred and the secular.
Our cathedrals and churches are not merely attractive historic buildings. They are places set apart for God. They are part of the spiritual, cultural, and architectural inheritance of this nation.
They were not built for the glory of man.
They were built for the glory of God.
And yet those entrusted being custodians of this inheritance appear increasingly willing to turn what is sacred into what is profane.
Where is the reverence?
Where is the stewardship?
Where is the fear of God?
At what point do we finally say
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?
The bishops and senior leadership of the Church of England must be held accountable for the direction in which they are taking the Church.
Because while historic parish churches across our villages and countryside struggle, close and disappear, enormous sums are being discussed for other causes while the very foundations of Anglican Christianity are being weakened.
Our heritage is being surrendered piece by piece.
Our churches.
Our traditions.
Our worship.
Our Christian inheritance.
And ultimately, our understanding of what it means for something to be holy.
This cannot simply continue unchecked.
As part of the Confessing Anglican Church, together with faithful Anglican leaders leaders such as Reverend Brett Murphy and Bishop Cai Dewar, we are saying clearly:
WE WILL NOT SIT SILENTLY BY WHILE THE ANGLICAN FAITH IS STRIPPED OF ITS IDENTITY.
The Church of England desperately needs leaders who understand that they are custodians, now owners.
Custodians of the Gospel.
Custodians of the faith.
Custodians of our churches.
Custodians of a Christian heritage handed down through generations.
And if the present leadership no longer wishes to fulfill that calling, then the question must be asked:
WHO WILL?
The Confessing Anglican Church stands ready to defend biblical Christianity, historic Anglicanism and the sacred inheritance that has been entrusted to us.
Because our churches were not built for the glory of politians.
They were not built for the glory of bishops.
They were not built for the glory of cultural fashion.
THEY WERE BUILT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.
And we must not forget it.
ENOUGH.
IT IS TIME TO STAND.”
