Ditto back to you CS.
You do exactly the same....
reading into scripture what is not there.

AND
You never replied to my posts on the Book of Life that you so depend on....
Names can be erased,,,as I clearly showed.

But you had no come back because there ISN'T ANY!

You should try learning from Jesus instead of depending on a book that you don't even understand.
No!!!! I already proved that there isn't a single verse in the Bible to support your lie. I asked you to provide a single verse which confirms that a persons name can be erased from the Book of Life, you can't find it because it doesn't exist.

Your problem is, you don't know how to interpret the Bible. There is not a single example where a persons name is removed. If you find it, then I will join your false religion.

If you're thinking of "I will blot their names out", then you're barking up the wrong tree because their names were not in the book of life to begin with and you know you don't have any evidence to show their names were in the book of life. So it's back to the drawing board for you

I used to believe in osas but I have since learned that one can forfeit their salvation meaning they can fall away from faith not by sin as that was dealt with on the cross but I have seen many leave the faith for many reasons
An argument that is made is that they were never truly saved to begin with but this seems to me like a cop out

Because if one has to be truly saved to never fall away then is salvation really that complicated? No it is not and so seeing all these people fall away from faith has since made me believe that osas is simply not true
Your theory would be valid, if salvation was in the hands of fallen sinners, who are dead in their sin. If that were the case, then nobody would be saved. But thank God, you're dead wrong because salvation is not of man, but it is of God instead.

If my salvation depended on my ability to remain faithful at all times, I would lose it many times everyday. But since my salvation is dependant on the Lord's ability to keep me saved, I have full assurance that I am already saved and the only way I can lose my salvation would be if God was a liar.

John 10:29, which says: "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand".
  • John 6:39
    - "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that all that He has given Me I should lose none, but I should raise them up at the last day".

1 John 5:11-13 - "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God".

  • Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord".
    • 2 Timothy 2:13 - "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself".
      • Romans 11:29 - "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable".

    • As the above verses confirm, salvation is not in the hands of men. God is the author, sustained and finisher of our salvation. So I have already inherited eternal life and nothing can change that fact.

It wasn't a silly accusation, I simply pointed out that your interpretation of what those scriptures are saying was unbiblical and false.

Quoting Scripture is not interpreting Scripture.

I think it silly for one to not to not know the difference between quoting and interpreting.

So what?

because the Bible interprets the Bible.

Disagree.

I believe “interpretation” means to “explain what something means”.

I believe Scripture “explains VERY Little”…Limitedly Seen When expressly “a mystery” is revealed.

Rather I believe Scripture “Clarifies and Verifies” itself.
And the “Interpretive understanding meaning of Scripture”…is Expressly given a man, by the Lord God.

One sure way of identifying false doctrine, is when it contradicts what other parts of the Bible have to say about it.
Every single doctrine must line up with what all the other scriptures have to say about it. I notice, your doctrines are never supported by other scripture which deal with the same subject.

When you pluck verses of scripture out in isolation and ignore the surrounding context, then misapply them, you always end up with false doctrine.

Interesting…

Scripture is Full of Contradictions….which by Default Reveals the path an individual can Choose to Follow…Apply to Themselves!
DO THIS…
Is a contradiction To:
do NOT Do THAT…

Absolutely Individuals… pluck, cherrypick, which Scriptures…
THEY Choose,
THEY Follow
that APPLIES to THEM

You want to Debate, Disagree, WhatScriptures I Follow, I apply to myself…

Don’t be Vague.
Be Specific.
Identify the Scripture.
Identify WHY, that Does or does Not apply to me.

@GodsGrace did not Lie.
GodsGrace used the term “erase” to reveal the Point of a Name no longer being visible in “The Book of Life”.

Scripture uses the Term ‘Blot out” the Name.
(Modernly “Redacted”, is the act of “blotting out”.)

Blotting out / Redacting IS Covering was WAS Written, Visible, and is No Longer Visible, to See to Read, to Consider, by the Same Measure For that which Remains, Visible.

* The “BOOK of Life”…IS Gods Record, of every single Human, He Created, He Formed, He Gave Life to…

Considering the Billions of Gods Formed Human Beings…
“There is that itty bitty Consideration of “WHAT” EACH and EVERY so Formed Human Beings … individually “BELIEVES”…

Were THEY, created, formed, made alive…
By, Through, Of God…. Or NOT?

Anciently, Historically, Modernly….Millions of Human Beings… privately and openly Believe
“they Were NOT, created, Formed, made Alive”, By, Through, Of God.

It IS “They / Them” Specific WHO Reject God creating and making them… God Shall BLOT OUT their names (identity), from His Recorded “Book of Life”.
They are Thus… Not Considered, to Become partakers…of being transformed, perfected, forever Alive WITH God.

A New, Better Testament was Offered Human Beings, some 2,000+ years Ago, such Offering continuing To THIS Day.

The “NEW and BETTER” WAY, requires the Understanding of The Old” WAY.

The OLD WAY… when IS a man’s Name Blotted Out of Gods Book of Life?
When he Denounces God, mad at God, wondering if God Exists?
No.
Men routinely do those thing while they ARE alive.
A mans NAME Becomes Blotted Out of Gods Book of Life WHEN the mans Body IS Mortally Dead, and thus can MAKE no choices / changes of What he Believes.
A Mortally Dead mans Belief at the Time of His Mortal Death…will Determine THEN, IF his Name shall be Blotted Out of Gods Book of Life.

An OTHER BOOK…
The Lambs Book of LIFE.

Understanding…God Created and Made…
Meaning…God Spoke, and what was Not, Became What Is.
That which God Created, He then MADE it Alive. (He Gave it Life)

Humans were created, made alive…AND given a Death Sentence, that All Humans Life (which is their Blood)… must, shall Die.

A New Better Testament Offering…
Human men…can Freely Choose, while Alive in their Blood Life, to Believe, Accept, The Blood Death of Jesus’ Body, that God Prepared and Sent into this World…While Promising / vowing their OWN Blood Life Death, freely given unto God…
Effectively…Accounting that mans Blood Life as Dead / Sanctified / Set Apart/ Already Justified / to Forever their Name remain in Gods Book of Life.

WHO “Saves” a man” is ALSO is he WHO “Redeems” the man.

Salvation By God…(because a man mortally died in Belief in God)…regardless of the Era…
God Shall redeem… First Resurrection.

Salvation By Christ the Lord Jesus…(because a man Chose the Option for his body to be crucified With Christ Jesus, and receive the “Baptism of the Lamb of God”…
Thus… that mans Name THEN becomes ENTERED into “The Lambs Book of Life”…

There is NO teaching of a Name Ever being Blotted out of “The Lambs Book of Life”.

The Lambs Book of Life contains the Names the Lamb has baptized unto Christ the Lord Jesus, WHO is accredit with Making that man Saved…
AND
Is revealed it is The Lord Jesus, WHO redeems those Named in the Lambs Book of Life. Rapture. And When…Before God sends Down from Heaven, His Tribulations and Wrath upon the whole world.

(And just to note God has other Records/ Books as well)

So much confusion in the Christian "religion".
It truly saddens me.
We even do not understand these "books" the same way.

I agree with what you've written above - not sure about the last couple of sentences...
but it's very clear that we can be blotted out of the Book of Life.

LOL
HOW does one remove something that was never there?!
If something is blotted out - what was it blotted out from?

Just a question to make you THINK.
No response necessary,,,

You're incapable of a serious conversation.

It’s the Way of God…and the Way of man…
Meaning little by Little, man learns…
About godly things;
About earthly things;

We in this Era, have an advantage…
Which can also BE a disadvantage…

We have access to the Whole godly story.
OT men had so much kept secret from them, not yet gotten to the point, more was revealed.

We having access to the end of the story…
Makes it easy to skip past each little by little points.

Especially in this Day…whereby mens patience is short, and want immediate satisfaction, no waiting… and by golly full proof and understanding.

The Book (for man) God approved is Scripture.
Scripture is Knowledge…little by little

There is no Book God approved for man…
That Gives man the “Understanding of Scripture”.

There in lies the Cause for “debate among men”…

Fact is “Understanding of Gods Approved Word…”ONLY comes to a man “From the Lord God Himself”!

Satan is fully informed of Gods Word…He confidently knows the Scriptures of Every Generation Scripture was Given man…

There also are men, who confidently Knows the Scriptures.

The Dilemma for Satan IS… He has NOT the Understanding of the Scriptures… which only comes from the Lord God.

I can not speak to What others Do, but can speak for myself.
I have and do study Scripture daily…briefly or at times 12 hours…
The Who, what, why, where, of any particular “point /Topic” I wish to study.
Researching every mention of that topic in Scripture…cross referencing…

After exhaustive study… THEN I ASK The Lord God … it’s meaning According to Him.

THEN Wait…for His Response …
THEN go back over All my notes written about that Topic to Add in His Understanding.

Some people… will as plainly seen in posts, agree with makes “logical (mindful” sense)
to them.
(Which seriously Nothing about godly things makes “logical” sense.)
Meaning it does not make sense to Believe in something you can NOT see, hear, touch, taste, smell.)

Some people will make a long list of Biblical Scholars Beliefs, Philosophers Beliefs, etc. AS IF… Believing what “they” Believe is satisfactory.

So yes it can be difficult.

I do my best to please God according to His Way, which is designed to benefit me that which in turn will Benefit God.

Meaning… any man WHO willingly submits unto the Lord God…literally Becomes…
Gods Inheritance.

And I would say, no one, including God, wants to miss out on receiving their inheritance.

Glory to God,
Taken

You are misquoting the verse. It doesn't say "I will blot out" It says "I will not blot out" and this is if they overcame:

Rv 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

He said IF they overcame he would not blot out their names. This implies their names were already there and would be blotted out if they failed to overcome. Simple Logic.

Actually, @Cross8527 is not "dead wrong".
Because he's 100% right.
OSAS, or Preservation of the Saints, is not biblical teaching.
Why?
Because it did not exist until the 1800's.

If I remember correctly,
the early church had no such teaching.
If my salvation depended on my ability to remain faithful at all times, I would lose it many times everyday.
Actually, your salvation DOES depend on your ability to remain faithful.

Revelation 2:10b
10.... Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

2 Timothy 4:7
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Hebrews 3:14
14For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

Matthew 10:22
22And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Colossians 1:22
22He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith,

There is more scripture.
Jesus promised eternal life to those that hold fast until the end....
Paul and the other writers....who were taught by Jesus....
in turn teach exactly the same.

The one who endures till the end
will be saved.

Your verse John 10:29
Yes sir.
The bible does not lie.
NO ONE and NOTHING can snatch you from the hand of God.
Except for YOU....
YOU can decide you no longer wish to serve God,
and thus you would forfeit your salvation.

We must endure to the end.

  • John 6:39
    - "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that all that He has given Me I should lose none, but I should raise them up at the last day".
Your verse John 6:39
Please don't forget WHO Jesus will raise on the last day....
John 6:40
40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone
who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

John 6:47
47 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.

Please note that BELIEVE is in the present tense.
IF we believe TILL THE END...
we surely will be raised to eternal life....

Just as Jesus and the other writers taught in the NT.

  • 1 John 5:11-13 - "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God".

Your verse 1 John 5:11-13

Yes sir.
The life is in the Son.
IF we have the Son,,,we have life.

Please note that the second part of 1 John 5:13 states that we are
TO CONTINUE TO BELIEVE in the name of the Son of God.

We must endure to the end.

  • Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord".
Correct.
Exegeted above.

You misunderstand the above verses.
How many times have I explained to you
2 Timothy 2:13 does NOT mean what you THINK it means.

Not explaining it again.
IF you were correct....2 Timothy 2:13 would conflict with 2 Timothy 2:12

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this.
But some REFUSE TO SEE.

And Romans 11:29
You DO create a lot of confusion....

How do YOU explain
Romans 11:20-22
20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you
stand by your faith. Do not be conceited *, but fear;

21 for
if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either.

22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

Please note:

God did not spare the natural branches (the Jews) and He might not spare the Gentiles either.
We are to stand by our faith...
not be conceited but fear.
To those WHO FALL severity.
IF we continue in God's kindness...God will be kind.
Otherwise, EVEN WE will be cut off.

Your verse, Romans 11:29 is speaking about God's CALL .....,
NOT our salvation.

reading into scripture what is not there.

AND
You never replied to my posts on the Book of Life that you so depend on....
Names can be erased,,,as I clearly showed.

But you had no come back because there ISN'T ANY!

You should try learning from Jesus instead of depending on a book that you don't even understand.
You never showed me a single verse to show that God removes names from the book of life. As I already explained, the references you gave don't actually say the person being blotted out was in the book of life to begin with.

There are different books which deal with different people. The book you relied on to propagate your false doctrine, is the book which contains everyone's names, that is everyone who ever lived. That book is a registry, and is not the same as the book of life.

Quoting Scripture is not interpreting Scripture.

I think it silly for one to not to not know the difference between quoting and interpreting.

So what?

Interesting…

Scripture is Full of Contradictions….which by Default Reveals the path an individual can Choose to Follow…Apply to Themselves!
DO THIS…
Is a contradiction To:
do NOT Do THAT…

Absolutely Individuals… pluck, cherrypick, which Scriptures…
THEY Choose,
THEY Follow
that APPLIES to THEM

You want to Debate, Disagree, WhatScriptures I Follow, I apply to myself…

Don’t be Vague.
Be Specific.
Identify the Scripture.
Identify WHY, that Does or does Not apply to me.
There is only one true interpretation of Gods Word, it's not a every road leads to the truth deal. You're obviously not a Shepherd, or Minister, or Teacher, or Pastor, or Theologian, or Bible Scholar. So you're just a Sheep like myself, you learn from your Shepherd and I learn from mine.

Both of our Shepherds teach radically different versions of the gospel, so your Shepherd has described an entirely different Jesus to the One my Shepherd has taught me about. This is why we will never reach a consensus, or agree on any Bible doctrine.

Your denomination preaches a gospel, which my Shepherd refers to as the doctrine of demons. I wouldn't be surprised if your Shepherd says the same thing about my shepherd, since so many of the Christian denominations are vehemently opposed and they don't even recognize each others Church as being valid.

I have noticed that we never agree on the meaning of any scriptures, because we see them through different lenses. most Christians are interested in the truth of any matter, they are more interested in flying their flag and waving their denominational banner.

@GodsGrace did not Lie.

(And just to note God has other Records/ Books as well)
All of that is your own private opinion, none of it is supported by the Bible. Private opinions are like noses, everybody has their own.
Your response is incoherent, unbiblical and illogical. It would help your cause if you cited some verses of scripture which support your opinions.

LOL
HOW does one remove something that was never there?!
If something is blotted out - what was it blotted out from?

Just a question to make you THINK.
No response necessary,,,

You're incapable of a serious conversation.
I asked you to show me a single verse which shows that God removes someone's name from the book of life, but you couldn't because it doesn't exist.
Your problem is a lack of discernment, a lack of understanding and indoctrination of false doctrine.

Do you even know how many books are mentioned in the Bible and do you have any idea what the different books represent and what their purpose is???? yeah I thought not!!!!

You do what all the ignorant wise guys do, you approach a doctrine with your mind made up and then twist the meaning of scriptures to fit your twisted theology.
What is the difference between the book of life and the book of the living, go on, let's see how smart you really are.

No, that's foolish logic. Rev 3:5 doesn't say that the names of unbelievers were in the book of life and then God removes their names. You just made that nonsense up to push your false doctrine.

You need to show me a single verse anywhere in the Bible which shows that God removes anyone from the book of life, that's the Lambs book of life. Not the book of the living which is nothing more than a registry of births deaths and marriages.

I don't care about your private opinion that "this implies their names were already there". What it actually implies is that you are making foolish presumptions by adding to the Word of God. Those who add to Gods Word shall suffer the plagues written the book of revelation.
How dare you speak on Gods behalf, that is blasphemy and it makes God look like a fool because He forgot to tell us the truth of the matter so we have to depend on wise guys like you to tell us what God failed to explain.

Actually, @Cross8527 is not "dead wrong".
Because he's 100% right.
OSAS, or Preservation of the Saints, is not biblical teaching.
Why?
Because it did not exist until the 1800's.

If I remember correctly,
the early church had no such teaching.

Your verse John 10:29
Yes sir.
The bible does not lie.
NO ONE and NOTHING can snatch you from the hand of God.
Except for YOU....
YOU can decide you no longer wish to serve God,
and thus you would forfeit your salvation.

We must endure to the end.

Correct.
Exegeted above.

20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you
stand by your faith. Do not be conceited *, but fear;

21 for
if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either.

Wow, talk about butchering every single one of the above verses. I was hoping you would get at least one right but that was wishful thinking, I should have known that the blind cannot receive the truth of the gospel.
Now I need to get my big red marker and put a big X over ever one of your interpretations.

1. You have no evidence that OSAS was not taught throughout Church history. Someone told you that lie and you swallowed their cool aid.

2. Every saved person remains faithful to the end, because we are led by the Holy Spirit, who can't fail. But according to your religion, you can and will fail because your salvation is dependant on your good works, just as Islam teaches that you go to paradise if your good works outweigh your evil works. See how pathetic your religion is.

3. Every saved person fights the good fight, finishes the race and keeps the faith. That's what it means to be saved. It doesn't mean that saved people don't commit sins like murder and adultery, were not perfect, but our Saviour is and we are in Him so God doesn't cunt our sin against us because Jesus has paid for it in advance.

I see you blasphemed against God by claiming that Jesus is a liar. Jesus said "nobody can snatch them from My Fathers hand". But because you're a rebellious wise guy, you say, "no Jesus you lie, because "Christian Soldier can". Jesus said nobody can but you say I can, what an abominable, blasphemous disrespectful statement that is.

No saved person can stand by their faith, we all betray God everyday. We fall into all kinds of sin everyday, so what's this rubbish about being "saved by works". That is the Satanic gospel.

Efez 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

AI-overzicht

The phrase "Once Saved, Always Saved" (OSAS) originated with the teachings of John Calvin in the 16th century and the Synod of Dort, though some theological viewpoints trace the ideas back to Augustine of Hippo. The doctrine asserts that salvation, once genuinely received, can never be lost, a concept that was not a prominent part of earlier church history and is not consistently taught by all Church Fathers.

Calvinist Roots
  • John Calvin (1509–1564):
The core concepts of OSAS are rooted in Calvin's theological framework, particularly his articulation of the perseverance of the saints.
  • Synod of Dort (1618-1619):
This synod formalized and codified these ideas, solidifying them within Calvinist theology and Reformed though

Augustine of Hippo (354–430 AD): Some sources suggest that elements of Calvin's ideas on OSAS, and other points of Calvinism, can be traced back over a thousand years to Augustine's writings and teachings on God's grace and predestination.
