In difficult times it is really important to know what to do and remain faithful to God and hold fast to our testimony. This will be a way of establishing a little direction for those who are young Christians.

The very first thing is to know what Jesus has done for us and what that result will be. We cannot be on the fence as to whther we are saved or not. Living in sin brings guilt. That guilt is a tool of the devil to cause us to waver in our faith.
Many have the idea we live the way we please and that we don't have to obey standards which God has established. Going to church for some has fulfilled their obligations if they put money in the box.

it will be neccessary for us to know if we hold to what is true concerning the bible and those who teach it. It is possible for people to make mistakes about the word, but they will be on the track of making sure that they have truth.

Now that we have a sure salvation and are commited to truth, we know what we believe about salvation
and the truth about the word. That is basic stuff. the third is living the truth. Head knowledge about the bible is important. Wisdom is acting on it. The person I am with right now believes in smoking, cursing, back talking, is racial, Would not go to church, lies, points the finger, is very proud and rebelious, and more , but says they are a Christian. I love them and pray for them, and forgive them.

It is very important for us to have the Holy Spirit clean us up from sins so we can appreciate the work Jesus did on the cross which was to deliver us from sin. Rom. 8:6 part 2 set us free from the law of sin and death. Jesus came to give us life and that more abundantly Jn. 10:10 to be continued.

Education. Education. Education. Standing firm in whatever situation requires one to know what to stand on.....and why.....and how.

I was saved over forty years ago and still remember my first thoughts that the greatest single need of Christians today is education. Bible education, apologetic education, social education and spiritual education. I have immersed myself in all sorts of Christian philosophy, formal education, and a smattering of the supermarket tabloid sort of fiction that passes for gospel. It's all education.

I've attended churches which have none and the lack of theological grounding shows in the desperate lives of those who attend there.

The pastor and the elders can offer all kinds and sorts of education, but if the members do not roll up their sleeves turn off the TV and the tunes for a while and do a little serious reading they will flounder and perhaps fall into the muck that threatens to overwhelm us all.

Education. Education. Education. God gave us a brain. We need to educate it.

but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft.

One thing that will help us stand firm and be strong is Isa. 40:

they that wait--that is have faith in God.
upon the Lord--not education but the Lord and his word.
shall, shall, shall, no negatives here.
renew their strength--- told you we need strength.
shall, shall,shall, no negatives here,
mount up with wings as eagles, they focus on the sun and climb higher,
run or walk not weary, why? their strength comes from God.

1Tim. 4:1 some shall depart.
Matt. 24:5 many be deceived here.
Neh. 8:10 the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Gal. 5:22 the fruit of the Spirit is joy
Isa. 61:1-3 praise and joy drive away depression.

The Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher, he will protect from all error. Beware there are seminaries who teach the red sea was 3 feet deep. that the parting of the water is not true. The coledge known as liberty Baptist which Jerry Falwell started, President Wilmington advocates that it is okay to blaspheme the Holy Spirit in the age of grace. Can't be certain as to why Falwell didn't stop this. it is in tape four of their seminary home tape ministry.

The only way to deal with this is pray and be sure God shows you where to educate. Stay in the bible and pray for Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.

love in all circumstances - as a result of our justification and then perfected in the school of our sanctification. All else is secondary.
