Matt 23
who are the successors of Moses and what authority do they have?
There was only one successor to Moses, and that was Joshua. As far as being a Levite is concerned, the Israelite priesthood, including all who served at the temple, is derived from the lineage of Levi. More precisely, the High Priests must be of the genealogy of Moses' brother, Aaron.Matt 23

There are no successors of Moses. Christ has superseded Moses. Kindly read and study Paul's epistle to the Hebrews.Matt 23 who are the successors of Moses and what authority do they have?

But this priesthood has been abolished with the advent of Jesus, our Judahite High Priest. The succession has ended, and there is no other Lord but Jesus.
I know I am referring to the successors of Moses at the time of Christ, Matt 23There are no successors of Moses. Christ has superseded Moses. Kindly read and study Paul's epistle to the Hebrews.
Did Jesus take away their authority (keys) and power (bind) and give it to Peter and the apostles?I think that the answer that you are looking for, @theefaith, is that the scribes and Pharisees sat in Moses' seat; and therefore, Jesus said, do as they say but not as they do.
Jesus meant that they, figuratively, sit in Moses' seat, as overseers of the Levitical Law (Mosaic Law). Which, in essence, all that judge by the Law, are imposing the authority that Moses had who legislated the Law by the divine command of God.how can Jesus be high priest without being over low priests?
matt 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Successors of Moses authority?
I am unsure of any scripture that might speak to that subject.Did Jesus take away their authority (keys) and power (bind) and give it to Peter and the apostles?
