I don't personally find this complicated.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Much love!
Jesus was speaking about people who professed Him but were not born again-false teachers-- the context is
false prophets
( this defines JWs very well--- who take it out it's context and use it often to try to threaten believers with it..)
-------------------------------------- Matt 7
15“
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor
can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
24“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
25and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:
27and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
---------------------------------------------
But we are not speaking about a person who will say-- Lord- Lord-- didn't I prophesy in your name etc...
I am speaking about someone who said they were saved, and seemed to follow the Lord for a time, but then chose to live in many sins for the rest of his life until death-- essentially denying the Lord-- is that person still saved is the Question?
Behold says YES. All through this thread so did you. So, now if you just misunderstood me somehow- OK. you do NOT agree with Behold.
See you said you did... no wonder I was confused by you. Read thru this and you will see why.
Although many post were deleted by mods..
It is not complicated for me at all. They either were never truly saved or fell away.
AND yes I know you disagree with the "fell away" part but they did fall away from whatever they did once believe!
OR could it be that they were told
that behavior does not matter AFTER you are saved-- so they were fooled from the get go. That is the teaching of Behold that I despise. You said you agree with Him on here-- you may want to check into thinking that.
2 Tim 4
I charge
you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:
2Preach the word! Be ready in season
and out of season. Convince,
rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
.
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own desires, they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4and they will
turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
