Basically losing yourself is pointless unless you have a new self to put on. Putting on Christ is meant for the inner man AFTER putting off the outer man. Trying to be perfected without removing the outer man just makes things worse and is suicidal for the inner man.
You’re talking about trying to be what you imagine to “be holy“ looks like by your own effort instead of seeing your destitute situation and seeing it is futile? Trying to control everything THROUGH the very part of you that must die/fall into the ground/be put off?

I’m just in a difficult place where there have come, through (the way I guess I’ve seen it) providential circumstance, certain things I could choose that arent bad or evil but would be considered good by most but yet I feel like they would be tragic for me. But this peace I’ve been in has begun to feel empty. It actually felt that way even before the deep peace came, like an emptiness but not in a bad sense (although it was somewhat bewildering at times because it seemed I could not even muster the will to do what would be GOOD for me in temporal matters).

Ive wondered if it has gone on for so long now that I have become tempted to try to fill it in with…some former things (though not bad things) because…well, I don’t think I know why on the because.

Oh never mind, that probably sounds crazy.

Exactly...being misguided into thinking you can progress into God's holiness without going to God Himself. Most people want to try figuring things out themselves. They may consult people but never God Himself. You would need faith for that.
I’m just in a difficult place where there have come, through (the way I guess I’ve seen it) providential circumstance, certain things I could choose that arent bad or evil but would be considered good by most but yet I feel like they would be tragic for me. You will experience the times of refreshing. But faith demands you maintain that hope though the desert times. Develop a pattern of waiting and seeking God DURING the peaceful times...and you will be sustained through the arid times. For faith to grow we have to be tested. Better results come about when we do our part.

Not at all. We all notice when something is different. Just rejoice in God for what He already gave to you. Keep rejoicing. Keep waiting. Over time that response will become ingrained. Seek the dew of the morning. Stop as many times during the day as you need to or want to, to thank God for His benefits. Wait daily at His gates.

I pray you keep doing well. Blessings to you. <><

And as if in answer, here’s the first thing I read when I pick up my reading where I left off just now - “how much time have you spent wondering what God is doing with you? It’s none of your business”…

Amen. Focus on God so that He will focus on you. Seek first the kingdom...and He will look after your needs.

Well, I took a very long nap and began reading again and I immediately came upon the thing I had been trying to explain earlier here, but explained much better.
”The thing that hinders Gods’ work is not sin, but other claims which are right, but which at a certain point of their rightness conflict with the claims of Jesus Christ. If the conflict should come, remember it is to be Jesus first.”
Still trying to wrap around it. It’s not just me. Here a dead man is speaking of it.

if you wanna see what is quickly coming upon this generation of christendom
then go again to the thread left to us by an athiest called mancurian .
And behold how their new way of evanglizing to the lost , DOES NOT preach the DIRE NEED TO REPENT and BELIEVE On JESUS .
And what else does their new way of inclusive love do .
WHEN I CAME ON to warn the atheist to BELIEV E ON JESUS
WHY dear ol epi called me an Extremist . IT HAS TURNED THEM AGAINST the one true gopsel
THEY no longer even KNOW how to evanglize , and those who do evanglize the gopsel THEY CALL EXTREMIST .
EPI has clearly shown his colors sister . And epi is not the only one , though perhaps he might be
a bit farther along in this incluisvity . Its like a cancer sister , and how it does grow as a deadly chancor .

yes, it was very strange how he told an atheist that if he receives a righteous man/prophet he will receive their reward.....as if salvation can be had by following a righteous man or prophet (like Epi himself perhaps?). Among other things, I was getting vibes of Catholicism with that. There is only ONE mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus. Only ONE righteous Man/Prophet in the new covenant, who if we receive and follow HIM we will inherit what He inherits....eternal life and the kingdom.

You two are very awful. But most importantly, @Lizbeth, you show you actually think. Neither of you read that other thread in full, understanding what the atheist has experienced in his life, from what I read. Lizbeth, you tend to agree with Amigo, and now are follower of him (I say this as you pointed us out who click "likes" to Episkopsos" posts, so that is on you now), to shove dire need "to BELIEV E ON JESUS", rather then put your self in that atheist's shoes, and wonder, what the best way is to reach to him? Many of us who grew up in a Church will still experience a prodigal son's journey towards our Heavenly Father. Have you not experienced it yourself? Or are you just perfect in all your ways, as you see. Which I know, is not true, reading your posts here. I feel ashamed to be part of this forum, for all the other members who showed darkness in that other thread, towards a man seeking the only true "light" in this world. What a failure most of us are, to those who seek Him.

Episkopos, your teachings have become crystal clear to me, and I can see their truth and 3 destinies unfolding in the world around me. Your words are infused with wisdom and align perfectly with God's will.

The Saint - wealthy people full of faith, they are blessed through grace and they're wealthiest amongst us. Their faith is a testament to the power of grace, and they're a shining example of how faith and prosperity can go hand-in-hand.

The righteous - Those belonging to the middle class, who have faith, but grapple with their human frailties, patiently wait for the gift of grace and serving the Saints.

The filthy - the poor people. Scum of the earth, faithless. They continually oppress God's people like a crow. They hate work.

Being blessed with wealth is often seen as a divine favor, a sign that one is walking in God's goodness.
Wealth provides the freedom to focus on spiritual growth, enabling individuals to use their time wisely and concentrate on understanding and fulfilling God's will, ultimately leading to sainthood.

Bless you brother. Thank you for your kind words. The prosperity of God's people is the life and peace from within that comes from embracing the truth. The word says that the righteous will not suffer want. God is faithful. Some of us will have to suffer....some more than others, we are all unique. Whom God loves He gives a hard time to in order that they might be fitted for honour. Some have more means (riches) so that they might support the saints and true seekers.

But all things work together for good who are called into the higher walk in Christ. Whether rich or poor, healthy or afflicted. :)

This proves your reasoning is carnal .
WHO did peter and paul and others go around
preaching the DIRE NEED to beleive on . JESUS .
You all bought the new way of evangelizing .
SO guess who YOU all call religious extremists .
THOSE who actually DO preach the dire need to BELEIVE ON JESUS .
WHich means you darn sure had called JESUS and all the apostles RELIGIOUS extremists .
NOW who do you suppose would try and silence the gospel of YE must beleive on JESUS to be saved .
IF ya said satan , BINGO .
I knew long ago when i was seeing all that mumbo jumbo about Dont use words
WHERE THIS was leading them too .
TO the silencing of the true g ospel and then in time into even despising those who do
AND IN REAL SHORT time and by means of this inclusive AI digital system , INTO RIDDING
the earth of those who DO preach the gospel . ALL of it was a snare
and all of it was a set up . Folks dont seem to realize
THAT satan himself can say GOD is love , but by means of this love
he twists a false image of a god that all religoins would see and believe to be GOD .
ONLY it was not GOD . SET UP and DECIEVED many were and have been .

No, I'm not perfect in all my ways, but thankfully I do have some idea of what God is saying in His word. It is through the foolishness of preaching.........the foolishness of the gospel......isn't that what the bible says? Did Jesus say, Come unto Episkopos, or come unto any other mortal man, or come unto a church, or a priest or minister, and he will give you rest, or did He say come unto Me and I will give you rest? What is the "foolishness" that we are to preach? It is Christ, yes? ....and He is not received with the carnal mind, but with the heart. It is not through man's machinations and manipulation, but by my Spirit says the Lord. Everyone is not appointed to salvation, but those who are foreknown by God.....we are not going after numbers of converts but after those who God has ordained to eternal life. There is something freeing about that...it takes the pressure off "us". We are just to preach Christ, or those who have a gift of evangelizing do in particular, and leave it up to God and the individual, and try to keep our filthy hands of flesh off it.

It is not the carnal mind that we are to appeal to, the bible says it is with the HEART that one must believe.

Rom 8:7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Okay, one more thing and I will stop derailing your thread with my side convo.
A verse came to me this morning regarding this thing I was struggling with and this choice/choices I was free to make.
But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
I feel I came so close. At least in my mind and my reasoning, I think I was over half the way there. And even now, there is an angst-y sorrow(?) over not taking that road even while there is also a relieved rejoicing that He strengthened and kept me.

Religious extremists like Amigo and Lizbeth and some others, have no heart...no truth or love, just religious slogans that are empty. Like clouds with no rain, it's all slogans and hypocrisy. My goal is to save such...even though the Lord does not want me to always succeed. Some are needed for judgment. But, as a human, I want all humans to do well and finish well. I understand that I will fail to save many. But for the ones that will humble themselves and hear with faith...there is much rejoicing. :)

It's not too late. Hypocrites can start to listen to themselves and realize how ridiculous they are.

Oh dear, no....this is misleading and not biblical. Very surprised in a way, to see who liked your post too, seeing they preach that it costs all that we have to follow Christ (which part I agree with). I see you are in Singapore......do you follow Joseph Prince by any chance?

The material blessings of the old testament were only types/shadows of the spiritual riches of the new covenant. The gospel is good news to the poor, no? And Jesus even said it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom than it is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.

And even in the old testament it says it is better the little that the righteous have than to dwell in the tents of the wicked......also where it says Lord give me neither too much nor too little. Wealth is strongly associated with degeneracy. History bears this out........the Caesars of Rome, other pagan empires, the infamous courts of Europe and those who we call the "elite" today. Not to mention just look at the general moral decline of western society that has become quite wealthy. Like ancient Israel forgot God when she became materially "blessed", it causes people to "forget God"....like the Laodicean church saying I am rich and have need of nothing.

It's one thing to really want to go all the way with God. And quite another to allow that to rob your peace with what God has given to you.

I know this guy who always says..."It's all good" He's not a spiritual guy but he's funny and easy to get along with. But sometimes that kind of attitude is right, I think. Compared to the depravity we see in the world a little reviving is HUGE. Maybe God wants you to praise Him from where you are even as you see He's kind of holding out on you?!

But then again, maybe you are already getting more than you deserve?! It's impossible to tell. It's beyond us. But to be sure the response to everything that we get is on us. There is nothing that happens to us that God has not permitted.

I choose to wink back at God...acknowledging his hand in every blessing...AND every trial.

Be blessed dear sister. <><

You are trying to catch a waterfall in a thimble. You hate being exposed to the truth and you won't even admit when you have been fully unmasked. Why do you keep coming to my threads? Because you know deep down inside, what you are terrified to admit, that I am one of the few that can help you. I am a voice crying out in YOUR wilderness. I'm trying to reach your very oppressed inner man.

Your bear of an outer man has your inner man remaining weak and poor. You are the big sister trying to save your little sister but you are leading both parts of you down the garden path. The very idea that you need help from outside....from a human no less, hurts your pride to no end. But that's how God has ordained it. If you can't discern the Lord in His Body...then you risk forfeiting your place in it.

You are awful. Does love always assume the worst like you do? Of course not. You have no heart. Look how you denigrate and seek to destroy the faith of others...because of your immense ego. Look at the hypocrisy you exhibit. You would destroy another believer to get your way.

This believer sees the truth...and you HATE that. You refuse sustenance to your own inner man and you would bully and condemn the weak brother....or the strong brother at that...you couldn't care less...running over them with your religious hubris.

Get off your new age religion....and learn to love others, help the humble, show mercy and kindness to those who see more than you do...which is the vast majority.

God's ways are not our ways. We tend to INVERT God's ways to suit ourselves. That is, until we are broken and crucified in the outer man.

There are a few here who have a CARNAL interest in holiness. These are looking at what they can get out of it. When these are confronted on their religious hubris...they react violently....showing where their interest comes from. It's spiritual AMBITION. They want to add to their already existing religious hubris.

It's the mercy of God that they progress no further in their lofty scheme. Building a sepulcher on high is the result.

I'm not assuming anything. Just going by what this poster did actually SAY. And which you have testified you agree with, at least in the main. Or are you lying? Are we supposed to bear false witness in order not to hurt someone's feelings? It's very telling how you agree with any poster and what they say as long as they are on "your side". But you have no problem or scruple at all about correcting, rebuking and accusing those who are not on "your side", without worrying one iota about their feelings or supposed "weak faith". Unfortunately you are so transparently predictable Epi, I would laugh if it weren't such a serious matter.

And just to add, it is Mystery Babylon, Mother of Harlots, whose "merchants" are materially wealthy, not saints as that poster said. It is those who "make merchandise of you"....and trade in shiny baubles of deceitful false doctrines and souls of men. Scripture even makes mention of the deceitfulness of wealth........selah. Material prosperity and its false security is deceiving and greatly contributing to the false doctrines and general apostasy of the church in our time.
