My dad was brought up Catholic, I was saved in the Baptist Church and became Pentecostal Holiness in my late teens. It seemed like to me I have seen the change from pure community to something like Noah's Ark, taking in all the clean and unclean, good and the evil. Using Hippolytus in such a bad way is close to blasphemy, because the reason why there are so many 'wolves' in today's Churches hiding in sheep's clothing is because of ALLOWING all sorts of workers of the devil that the devil sends there.

In 1 Corinthians 5, Apostle Paul wrote to the brethren at Corinth and told them to cast out that member who was having sexual intercourse with his own mother. Some suggest that later in Corinthians that one cast out of the Church was later forgiven for his sin and allowed to rejoin the brethren. And that's fine, as long as that sinner stopped doing that sin.

Out of the 7 Messages Lord Jesus had for the seven Churches in Asia (Minor), ONLY two of them He had no rebuke for. The other five Churches had problems in them involving allowing falseness, even sexual idolatry for religious purposes! That pattern for the 7 Churches are still in effect today for all Churches, as a guide, to see what kind of Church you are in. Thus 5/7ths of today's Christian Churches have un-Biblical doctrines and practices in them. Not all members in those five rebuked Churches were guilty, but the shadowy structures behind their leadership was, and is.


There are several PROBLEM CHURCH systems today also that teach un-Biblical doctrine: some of those un-Biblical doctrines are --

1. a false Pre-tribulational Rapture theory -- Jesus showed His coming to gather His saints will be after... the tribulation (Matt.24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27).
2. that Christ's future "thousand years" reign of Revelation 20 is meant only spiritually, and not literally.
3. that once anyone believes on Jesus Christ, they can never have sin again.
4. that all events written in The Old Testament are now dead history.
5. that a Christian pope can be The Antichrist, when Bible prophecy points to the coming Antichrist as one from among the unbelieving Jews.
6. that Christ's Church is raptured to Heaven off this earth at Jesus' coming, when God's Word shows the Church will go with Jesus to the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, on earth.
7. that Jesus and His elect reign over the nations NOW, already, without Jesus' direct Presence here with us.
8. that Christ's Kingdom has already come on earth today, when ONLY His Kingdom by The Spirit through His saints has come on earth only, at His 1st coming, His death and resurrection. His literal physical Kingdom is still yet to come upon this earth, and will only happen by His direct Presence here on earth at His 2nd coming.

I did read what you wrote, and my reaction was appropriate.

And yes, I am well familiar with the subject of secret societies that hide in the background when on the outside their organizations (like the Masonic Lodge) promotes good things, but their controllers in the Greater Mysteries are the "synagogue of Satan." What better way for a servant of the devil to hide than to surround himself with deceived Christians in the Lesser Mysteries lower membership.

Back in the 1930's, in France, there was a Federation of Universal Initiate Orders that held meetings in Brussels, Belgium, called F.U.D.O.S.I. They contained something like twelve different mystical secret fraternities, the Masonic Lodge being only one of them.

And they all... teach that all religions are equal, which is actually a very old teaching among those secret societies. In the higher levels (Greater Mysteries), they teach Gnosticism, with one idea that Jesus did not actually die on the cross, but was taken down before He died by His Apostles, and lived a long life, married and had children. Now, the accusation against Hippolytus is lacking some detail. Callistus is accused of allowing bishops/presbyters to remain in their office despite committing grave sin. That is to say not the same as the rank and file churchman, at least from what I can read. Bishops/presbyters are held to a higher standard. Not pure, but above reproach. (Titus 1:7). This controversy reaches its culmination with the Donatists in the fourth and fifth centuries where sacraments and prayers were denied effectual if administered by sinful clergy.

I went to Maundy Thursday services yesterday at a place in Rural Retreat Virginia. I have followed them on Facebook but have never been. It was a nice service...

1. Worship - Hymnal and camp meeting piano
2. Word - King James Version
3. Prayer - Everyone went up for prayer
4. Communion - Then was served communion

After the service all the kids gathered around to finish off what remained of the bread and the wine. I could imagine someone imagining the "church of the pure" as Pope Callistus, would have probably had a hard time with this.

I am not sure how you read that I am Roman Catholic from that post or referring to the body that refers to its self as the RCC. I am not. There was the idea of the church catholic, meaning universal, and varied in its local expressions at this time (2nd through 5th centuries).

I would not have gone up because I have my own close personal relationship with the and allow the Holy Spirit to pray through me and He always prays the will of God.

The pastors as Noah's Ark. I would say that all pastors in all churches are their own unique creation with their own unique testimony. This makes it hard for me to recommend or criticize a church when I know nothing of the senior pastor.
