I am glad traditional beliefs are fading.newlife said:There is no doubt that television, radio programs, movies and books about the occult and New Age phenomena are a lucrative industry and that the media influences the world view of many people. My point is that traditional beliefs are being eroded and transformed even though some of the sources of change may have a mercenary motivation. Side by side with this naturalistic, materialistic, humanistic philosophy and explanations of reality underpin much of the intelectual framework of Western society.
Think of the traditions of "Christians" before?
Death by stoning. Thank GOD that humanists came along to stop that nonsense.
Dunking Stools. Again, humanism made that illegal.
Hanging, pressing, pillory, burning at the stake
Slavery, oppression of women, corporal punishment of children and women.
All of these traditions caused nothing but harm.
I am greatly pleased that these are all being or have been eroded.
I'd like to see a few more also done in. Quite tired of tradition for tradition sake. It was a sore spot for Our King as well.
