So Christians die and they just have to hope that this return happens someday?

Why bother? They're dead and they're not aware. Maybe heaven's come to the same conclusion. It would go a long way to explaining the 2,000 year gap that's ongoing.

The Messiah’s return is dependent on the living God, not on the dead.

Maybe heaven's come to the same conclusion.

It’s all that matters. It’s in God’s hands and he will do what he said he will do.

The land @Riven. The land. It‘s the land, the earth, that is promised to Abraham and to his seed (i.e., the Messiah and who belong to him.)

That’s the gospel that Jesus and the apostles preached -> the gospel of the kingdom.

A Messianic prophecy @Riven -

“‘Behold, the days come,‘ says Yahweh, ‘that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will dwell safely.’”

This is a description of the Messiah’s future government (cp. Isaiah 9:7). According to this passage, where will the activity take place: in heaven or in the land?
