Does celebrating the Crusades - which ultimately ended in failure - help or harm evangelization of Muslims?
The truth is seen - whether it is recognized and acknowledged or not is another matter - when the teaching of Jesus and the apostles concerning how the followers of Jesus are to treat their enemies is placed beside the way that the crusaders and the Muslims treated one another, and the way that they both treated the Jews.
So just one of many then. Thank you for helping me see that.
These many reasons are obstacles separating you from Jesus.
If it were possible, would you like to clear those obstacles from the path?

I’m learning how to win over Muslims on the go, by studying what others are doing - learning from both their successes and their failures. One thing I’ve learned is that celebrating the Crusades isn’t the way. That’s waving a red cape in front of a raging bull; it hardens the hearts of Muslims.
Whatever else may help us win over the Muslims, I’m always mindful that Luke 6:40 is the way to win over people.
The Crusaders returned evil for evil in confronting Muslims. That’s not the way to win over the Muslims, just as it isn’t the way to win over any people.
Would you like me to list some of the obstacles?
I don't think that you would be able to clear them all, not for me personally.

Yes. I’m always interested in learning about what keeps a person from following Jesus.
I’ve never encountered a reason that hasn’t been cleared by someone.
I may not have had to clear the reasons that are in your way, but I’m sure someone has. Would you like to clear them?
I think it is fair to say that if a person doesn’t want to clear what is in the way, they won’t clear what is in the way.
Being the father of one homosexual child and one transgender child, I wonder if Jesus would treat my children with love and welcome them into the fold?
I've met a lot of Christians and get somewhat mixed messages.
If following Jesus means turning my back on my children it definitely isn't an option for me.
It’s sin, but it’s not the unforgivable sin. Sin can be forgiven.
Jesus doesn’t want us to turn our backs on our children. However, neither does Jesus want us to put our children (or anything else) before him.
I haven’t had this problem to clear. I know quite a number of people who have had it and did clear it. Not one of them turned their back on their children. You can clear it too, if you want to. Jesus wants you to.
I was just reappointed this month to serve another three years on the Kentucky Citizen Foster Care Review Board in the county where I currently reside. We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning, and a few of the children are homosexual and transgender. They are loved by their foster care parents and by every member of the KCFCRB. Their parents have either neglected, abused, or abandoned them; Jesus hasn’t.
I don't believe in the concept of sin, and certainly not original sin.
I now believe in evolution by natural selection as it makes far more sense to me than the Genesis account.
To be clear here I'm not talking about abiogenesis, I'm merely talking about the origins of our species.
So in short, if I can't take the Bible literally and don't believe in original sin, then how can I possibly follow Jesus who is to save me from that sin?
