Reminds me of the time I was waiting for a taxi in front of a building. I had slowly walked with my cane to the front of that building so the driver could find me easier.
Rush hour traffic so a lot of noise. Driver phoned and said he was there. I couldn't see any taxi anywhere. So for five minutes at least I kept telling him that I was in front of the building and kept giving him the address!
He just kept repeating he was there! Finally I checked around the corner on a different street.... that's where he was! Some business woman saw me limping towards the taxi and opened the door for me and helped me inside. The driver was using his phone, couldn't have cared less. I don't have anything against foreigners (all my friends are from foreign countries) but he had an African accent and was wearing an African shirt. He could have told me he was on the side of the building.
Life in California is different.
