* College. Calculus. I was required to take five semesters of it in order to earn my degree in civil engineering. Two and a half years studying a subject in great depth and never once used it during my 35 year career in engineering.
High school. How to dissect a frog. I came across many frogs on construction sites but not once did I ever take one apart.
Elementary school. Square dancing. I hummed or whistled occasionally on construction sites but not once did I dance - square or any other style. *
