I haven't left my house for 2 years since dad came to stay with me.
I never been much for fireworks. I grew up in Boston and down on the Harbor where the Tall Ships come in, they used to have really big displays back then, the music would be in sync with them.
I did watch all the fireworks this year all around the country. It was beautiful.
Truckers have a hard life. Always on the go. Truck Stops, greasy diners, and sleeping on the side of the highways when there is no room to park your truck in a rest area or truck stop.
My Husband was a night driver, less traffic. So I remember going up through the Black Hills of S, Dakota, It was in the middle of winter and I really wanted to see it. But the schedule we was on made it so we had to go through them at night.
Some disappointments, couldn't go over the Hoover Dam. Mostly what I saw was cows and corn.
Fields upon fields of corn,
First trip I went on with him was to Texas. I had never left New England. I saw these cactus and I said, Oh wow, I thought they was only in cartoons with the Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote LOL
Pretty Country.
I don't miss travelling anymore. Very stressful, Going down I-5 from Washington to California in the winter and the steep grade on the mountains make you feel like your face is against the windshield. And the ice. I remember thinking, where is the next runaway ramp just incase.
Not a very healthy lifestyle either. Eat fast food, ride for hours and when you do stop there is only time to find the restroom, grab a shower, eat some buffet, and get about 6 hour sleep before your off again.
What a life, lol
