“And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father, which word was full of grace and truth.”

(John 1:14, NMB)

The incarnation; the word was made flesh -> Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, Son of the living God.

“And the word was made man, and dwelled among us, and we have seen the glory of him, as the glory of the one begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and of truth. [And the word, that is, God’s Son, is made flesh, or man, and hath dwelled in us, and we have seen the glory of him, the glory as of the one begotten of the Father, the Son full of grace and truth.]

(John 1:14, WYC)

Begotten.

This should bring to mind for us the birth narratives presented in Matthew 1 and Luke 1. John 1 harmonizes with what Matthew and Luke wrote.

“So the word of God became a human being and lived among us. We saw his splendor (the splendor as of a father’s only son), full of grace and truth.”

(John 1:14, PHILLIPS)

This is John, a Jewish monotheist, drawing upon his Hebraic background, speaking about the incarnation, the enfleshment, the davar (Heb.) / logos (Gk.) of the one God of Israel.
