The Last First, And The First Last?

Exactly how did our Lord Jesus mean this?

Matt 20:16
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Hmmm..interesting ...IMHO...I think He meant that the last ones was the most humble putting all others before himself...and the first one was the one always putting himself before others...therefore the most humble will be the first in heaven and the first one will be last....the humble will be recognized in his faith and selfishness....

And many are called on to run the race, but there are few winners!

It means the time of the firstfruits, the man child, are in these last days. Many followers are called but of them the firstfruits are chosen to be born in the last generation for a specific purpose. The first at the last, the firstfruits in the last days.

I too believe that the 'last' workers in the field have a special duty during a short time period at the end, which in service will be equal to the 'first' workers working for most of the day (Matt.20). It will all equal out.

I think the first fruit being last idea is interesting, and we are all in this generation for a divine purpose
