Hello,
Yesterday I was sitting in a home group discussing Hebrews 1, and during the discussion I suggested that Jesus would rebuild the Temple in three days of the Lord in the future and the Pastor of the Church who was leading the home group became angry, because he claimed, that I was abandoning a good theological understanding that when Christ's body was resurrected after three days in the tomb, that his body then represented the rebuilt Temple that Christ had spoken about when He had cleansed the Temple courts of the people trading in sacrificial animals.
John 2:13-22: –– Jesus Cleanses the Temple
(Matt 21:12-17; Mark 11:15-19; Luke 19:45-48)
13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. 15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!" 17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up."
18 So the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?"
19 Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days {of the Lord} I will raise it up."
20 Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"
21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.
NKJV
However, what I read is that we, the body of Christ, will become the Temple of God, in around 3,000 years from when Christ spoke this truth, after the GWTR judgement.
This pastor also believes that the Parable of the Talents and the Parable of the Minas is all about Christ and His empowering of the Saints to evangelise the lost souls, whereas when Jeus told these two parables, He was speaking about what Satan would put in place to oppose the establishment of God's everlasting Kingdom while Satan is imprisoned in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 years. Revelation 12 confirms this as it parallels the storyline of the Parable of the Minas.
There is a lying spirit working within the Church Body to distort God's truth from being understood. The people who present these lies, do so from a position of being a teacher, with the "ordained" authority to misrepresenting God's truths as found in scripture.
There are many on this forum who have heard the lying spirits within the church and repeat the lie not knowing that they too are spreading the lie.
