I don’t have the “Christians Only” forums open (so I’m largely unaware of what is transpiring in them) but I noticed in the side bar* that a thread has been opened in one of those forums setting the Nicene Creed to nice music. This being the 1,700th anniversary of the original Nicene Creed, I think that’s a fine way for those who affirm the Creed (though it’s almost always the revised Nicene Creed, Constantinople AD 381, that they actually affirm) to close out the year.
Thread 'Nicene Creed set to nice music'
Nicene Creed set to nice music
The Messiah, the apostles, and Christians who lived and died prior to AD 325 didn’t affirm the Nicene Creed. It dates to after their lifetimes.
But the Messiah, the apostles, and the earliest followers of Jesus did themselves have a creed; the Shema.
As I hope can be seen from this OP, the purpose of this thread isn’t to divert attention away from the Nicene Creed set to nice music thread, nor to drown it out. That thread was the inspiration for this thread, and I extend my sincere thanks to @Debp for starting it.
The purpose of this thread is to present the Messiah’s Creed, my Creed, the Creed of Judaism, set to beautiful music (and an emotional historic event background from June 7, 1967) for all interested members to listen to and enjoy.
P.S.
* The “side bar” I mentioned is called “Latest posts”.
