And how different is this than our own COntinental Congress declaring it's own government back in 1776? There is a proverb that states: "No nation is more than three meals away from a revolution." Weather it be Venezuela, Nicaraugua, or now Mexico. "Our democracy" or whatever government we approve of being in power has given them nothing but corruption and poverty. When a nation is so disfuntional that people are crossing the border, leaving it like rats off of a sinking ship, that nation is quite disfuntional. Those who have yet to cross the border are looking for anything that even has the slightest glimmer of a better alternative. This reminds me of the HBO mini series "Rome". The Rome Ceaser marched into was a filthy, crime ridden, poverty stricken getto. Ceasar took charge and began to put people to work, punish the criminals, and clean up the streets. His opponents could only cry out and scream "Tyrant!" or "Save the republic!" In other words, it was better to have a filthy crime ridden getto as long as the starving, filthy, crime victims are free and it is wrong to lock up the criminals, put people to work, and clean up the town if it "Violates the procedure of the republic". The sad truth is that if procedure calls for failure, it is time to change the procedure. Mexico has been a filthy crime and corruption ridden getto nation from the day it won independence from Spain. The people are willing to try anything that will promise change. Either way, the status quo is no longer a viable answer.
