http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,230957,00.htmlSheesh. It's nothing but a big joke at this point. The sad thing is, we're seeing more and more of this nonsense as time goes on. If they left doesn't win, they immediately protest and whine about it like a two year old would.Allegations of illegitimacy and rigging the voting - sounds a bit familiar to some recent elections in 2000 and 2004 does it not? At least Al Gore and John Kerry didn't play mock government.

And how different is this than our own COntinental Congress declaring it's own government back in 1776? There is a proverb that states: "No nation is more than three meals away from a revolution." Weather it be Venezuela, Nicaraugua, or now Mexico. "Our democracy" or whatever government we approve of being in power has given them nothing but corruption and poverty. When a nation is so disfuntional that people are crossing the border, leaving it like rats off of a sinking ship, that nation is quite disfuntional. Those who have yet to cross the border are looking for anything that even has the slightest glimmer of a better alternative. This reminds me of the HBO mini series "Rome". The Rome Ceaser marched into was a filthy, crime ridden, poverty stricken getto. Ceasar took charge and began to put people to work, punish the criminals, and clean up the streets. His opponents could only cry out and scream "Tyrant!" or "Save the republic!" In other words, it was better to have a filthy crime ridden getto as long as the starving, filthy, crime victims are free and it is wrong to lock up the criminals, put people to work, and clean up the town if it "Violates the procedure of the republic". The sad truth is that if procedure calls for failure, it is time to change the procedure. Mexico has been a filthy crime and corruption ridden getto nation from the day it won independence from Spain. The people are willing to try anything that will promise change. Either way, the status quo is no longer a viable answer.

Well, let's see. We were a colony, they are an established nation. They had democratic elections and a freely elected standing government in place; we had appointed governors/proprietors from a country half way around the world. Then there's that whole Constitution thing that they had and we had yet to write. They aren't under the thumb of a foreign government; we were. I can keep going if you'd like.

I'm not disputing that Mexico has some problems; that's been obvious for the past century and it hasn't really gotten better for the population as a whole. However, I have to question is this parallel government being done to help the people or is this being done as a power play. Even Christ said render unto Caesar what is Caesar's; if we went and setup a parallel government everytime we didn't agree with the elected party then nothing is ever going to get done. That kind of thing leads to bitter civil wars that won't leave anyone happy. The obvious answer here is that it's a power play. Welcome to the new trend of challenging everything when it comes to elections on the left. It's simply way too early to compare this to Caesar crossing the Rubicon; with all due respect that's absurd at this point in the game. The same thing could be said about Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler using that logic.
Either way, the status quo is no longer a viable answer.
Funny thing is, the winner of the race was a new face as well.I've spent this semester studying Latin American politics and the history there so I'm ready to talk about them if you'd like. It's no fallacy to conclude that the left hasn't been very effective either in LA and has been quite dirty at times. This is just another new trend.

1) The King of England didn't see it that way. The Continental Congress was just as much of a governemnt within a government as the CSA was in 1861.Rebellion is rebellion weather it is a rebelious organization or a govonor declaring himself and his region no longer subject to higher authority.2) Both of my parents came from Germany, my father fought in Stalingrad so I have a little closer perspective of what happend back then and wy it happened. Inflation was 1000+ %, unemployment was over 65%, crime was rampant. The Wiemar republic was doomed. The onloy question left was weather Germany would go Marxist and join the Soviet Socialist Republic or go Nazi. Europe brought this upon its self. 3) As far as elections go, people have lost faith in the system, elections become merly a game of "Choose your oppressor". Not to say that the left is the answer. Just that the staus quo is loosing viablility. I for one am one who believes that the 2nd Amendment applies equally to the extreme right as much as it does to the left. I would be just as quick to shoot Fallwels storm troopers as I would Hillary'sBottom line: Government that we either supported or at the very least cheered for have failed to deliver anything other than corruption and poverty.I for one cannot blame the pople for demanding change and if the left shoots thier way into power, so be it. We will simply have to adjust our defnse policy to fit the paradym.
