1 Cor. 7:2, "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."
This is God's Word which is the only stated reason for Christians to become married, "to avoid fornication."
In error, Christians confidently and boastfully come up with the following falsehoods for their marriage:
1.) "We just feel like the Lord has amazingly prepared and brought us together in love!"
2.) "We feel very called to each other that we are to use our marriage as a means of glorifying the Lord!"
3.) "We have so much in common, and share so deeply in our faith, we cannot imagine marrying anyone else!"
4.) "We grew up together, and have always known we were meant to be one."
5.) "We just compliment each other and fit so very well!"
6.) "We meet each other's needs."
7.) "We want to raise up a Godly family unto the Lord."
None of these reasons for getting married are found in Scripture. The only one given in the New Testament is "to avoid fornication."
